Experience a Nike Evolution Rugby Camp this summer at North Central College, located just 40 minutes west of Chicago. Campers enjoy high level training under the direction of 2012 Team USA U20 Coach, Scott Lawrence, and Clemson Head Men’s Rugby Coach, Justin Hickey. Accommodations are provided on campus and all rugby activities take place on campus fields. Join us for this one-of-a-kind camp experience and watch your game evolve!
The Nike Evolution Rugby Camp at North Central College offers a four-day, three-night camp experience directed by a nationally recognized staff. The overnight camp includes key fundamental drills, high performance education modules, competitive match play, all meals, housing and evening group activities. The extended day camp (9:00am-9:00pm) will include drills, education modules, match play, as well as lunch and dinner.
Highlights Include

Scott Lawrence
In June 2012, Coach Lawrence led the USA U20 team to a Junior World Rugby Trophy championship in his second year with the program. Coach Lawrence serves as the Defense Coach for the 2012 Collegiate National Semi Finalist Life University Rugby program. Prior to his assignment as USA U20 coach, Lawrence served as Head Coach for the USA High School All American Team, as well as Director of Rugby for the Division 1 men’s national champion Life University Senior Side.

Justin Hickey
Coach Hickey is in his third season as Head Coach of the successful Clemson Tiger Rugby Program. Hickey worked for 2 years as Manager for the USA Rugby U20 Junior All American Team that competed in the IRB Junior World Rugby Trophy in T'Bilisi, Georgia in 2011, and won the competition in Salt Lake City, UT in June 2012, earning the USA promotion to the IRB Junior World Championship competition in 2013.
Read Full BioCoach Hickey began his coaching career where his playing career started, as Assistant Coach at Catholic Central High School, in Grand Rapids, MI. Hickey helped start the Davenport University Varsity Rugby team in Grand Rapids, in 2009, which went on to win the 2011 & 2012 USA Rugby Division 1AA National Championship. Coach Hickey served as Assistant Coach/Manager for the USA Rugby High School All American 7s Team, which toured to British Columbia in 2011, as well as serving as Manager of the USA Rugby High School All Americans from 2009-2010.
Coach
Luke Gross
Luke Gross is the forwards coach for the USA Women’s Eagles. In his role he overseas line outs, scrums and the tackle-contest area. Luke brings the experience of 15 years of professional play in the United Kingdom and 62 caps for the USA as a second row.
A former college basketball star, Luke represents one of the great cross-over athlete successes for the USA. He played in the 1999, 2003 and 2007 World Cups and played for the Harlequins, Llanelli and Newcastle. Luke is currently the High Performance Manager and Specialist Coach for USA Rugby.
Coach
Phil Eloff
Coach Eloff is the assistant coach for the back to back national champion Davenport Panthers. As a player, Eloff was first capped by the USA Eagles in 2000 and went on to play in 36 test matches including 2 XVs Rugby World Cups (2003 in Australia & 2007 in France) as well as the 2005 7's Rugby World Cup in Hong Kong.
Coach Eloff was also involved in the first annual Collegiate Rugby Championship (CRC) 7's in Columbus Ohio in 2010, where he was part of the Notre Dame 7's coaching staff. Eloff continued to assist the Notre Dame 7's program again at the 2011 CRC in Philadelphia. Coach Eloff has served as an assistant coach for the USA Rugby High School All Americans 7's program in July of 2011 that toured to Canada, as well as the 2012 USA Rugby Collegiate All Americans which toured Ireland last summer.

David Fee
Coach Fee is the Head Coach of the University of Notre Dame 7's program, where he will once again lead the team at the 2013 Collegiate Rugby Championship 7's competition on NBC in June. Fee's extensive coaching experience includes assignments as Head Coach for the 2011 USA High School All American 7's program as well as Assistant Coach for the USA High School All American XV's program.
As a player, Coach Fee had the honor of captaining the USA Eagles 7's team and also earned 29 XV's caps including appearances in the IRB Rugby World Cup in both 7's and XV's.

Adam Russell
Chicago Camp Nutrition Consultant
Adam Russell is the USA Rugby High Performance Nutritionist. Adam earned his Ph.D. in anthropology from Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar, while representing the University against Cambridge four times in the rugby Varsity Match. At Oxford, Adam studied how different groups incorporated emerging scientific knowledge into their daily lives and practices, including how athletes approached nutrition and supplements.
Adam has worked for the Department of Defense in human performance and nutrition research. Adam won the Super League with NYAC and the All-Star Championship with MARFU in 2005, and finally represented the U.S. Men’s National Team in 2006. He has maintained the High Performance Nutrition blog since 2007, which provides a mechanism to help his clients stay up to date on emerging performance-related nutrition research.
Nike Evolution Rugby Camps provide a high level training environment for young rugby athletes, based on focus, commitment, passion, work ethic, skill, and enjoyment. Players receive specialized coaching geared toward developing improved individual and team skills. With coaches who are passionate about the game of rugby, players can expect to further increase their love and motivation for the game.
Program options
The overnight camp includes key fundamental drills, educational seminars, team strategies, match play, film analysis, meals, housing and group activities. Campers will be staying in residence halls located on campus as well as eating in campus dining halls. The extended day camp (9am - 9:00pm) will include drills, education modules, match play, lunch and dinner.
Early Arrivals
Early arrivals are responsible for own accommodations as dormitory accommodation is not available the night before camp starts.
Check-In and Check-Out
Please note there will be no early arrivals, as dormitory accommodation is not available the night before camp starts. On the first day of camp check-in takes place from Noon -12:30pm at the dormitories. Check-out takes place at 5.30pm on the last day of camp at the rugby fields.
Team Discounts
Evolution is offering a $25 dollar discount for each player when 5 or more players from the same team sign up for camp and a $40 per player discount for 10 or more players from the same team. Linens and A/C
Campers need to bring their own linens. There is A/C in the dorms.
Supervision
Campers are supervised 24 hours a day. The staff will reside in the residence halls with the campers and participate in evening activities. Supervision will be maintained at an 8:1 staff to camper ratio at all times. Campus rules and regulations will be strictly enforced at all times.
Transportation
Campers are responsible for travel to and from camp. The packet we send to registered campers in the spring offers suggestions on shuttle services for each specific camp.
Registration Packets
A detailed camper registration packet containing check in location, health/release forms, emergency contact info, and a checklist of what to bring will be emailed to all registered campers prior to arrival at camp.
