Tati Korba heads into her ninth year at the helm of Goucher College's women's soccer program coming off of one of the most successful seasons in school history. Her 2012 squad tied a school record for wins by going 12-4-2.
Under Korba's leadership, the Gophers have increased their win totals in each of the last three seasons. In those three seasons, Goucher also placed seven players on All-Landmark Conference Women's Soccer Team and three on NSCAA All-Region squad. In addition, Korba coached the Landmark Conference's Rookie of the Year in 2011.
Korba joined Goucher's coaching staff prior to the 2005 season and served as head coach in a part-time capacity for two years. In 2007, she became the first full-time head coach in the program’s 25-year history.
Korba began her coaching career in 2001 as the assistant coach at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. After one year as the assistant, Korba was elevated to head coach in the 2002 season and guided the Thoroughbreds to their first winning record in six years. After leaving Skidmore in 2002, Korba worked for both the NY/NJ Metrostars and DC United of the MLS, and she also spent two years as the head soccer coach at The Madeira School in McLean, Va. During that time Korba was also an assistant coach with the U-18 Washington Freedom Academy program.
Korba was a standout soccer player at her alma mater, Hobart and William Smith College where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in 2000. She competed in the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship all four years of her career, including being a starting forward on the 1997 team that finished as national runner-up. Over her four-year playing career, Korba collected numerous awards including all-conference, all-state, and NSCAA all-region. After an impressive senior season at William Smith, Korba was named an NSCAA Division III All-American as well as the New York State Player of the Year, and the UCAA Conference Player of the Year.Read Full Bio
