The best place to become a better soccer player is in the company of coaches and players who share your passion. At Nike Soccer Camp, our goal is to stimulate a love for the game in young athletes by showing them how to accelerate their own progress and success. Join us at Widener University for a week of intensive soccer training.
The Pre-Season Training Session is designed to address the technical, tactical and conditioning needs of individual players and teams who are aiming for excellence during the fall season. Under the direction of Widener Men’s Coach Brent Jacquette, the training establishes a solid foundation on which high school and club sides can build for the weeks ahead. Execution of skill under match conditions is stressed as are both offensive and defensive principles of play. Such concepts as width, penetration, and depth in attack and pressure, support, and balance in defense are developed within practice sessions and controlled scrimmages. Training is conducted in an isolated soccer environment with few distractions.

Former assistant Jared Melot has been named the new head men's soccer coach at Albright College, heading into the 2013 season. Melot becomes the ninth head coach in program history; having served as an assistant with the men's and women's teams in 2011 and 2012. The men went 8-10-1 last season, while the women earned consecutive Commonwealth and ECAC South playoff appearances. The Lady Lions won their first-ever ECAC playoff game in 2011. Melot came to Albright after two years as a men's graduate assistant with his alma mater, Lynchburg College. The Hornets won the ODAC both seasons, and advanced to the 2010 NCAA Division III National Championship, losing 2-1 in overtime to Commonwealth opponent Messiah. They were 20-5-1 that season and were ranked #2 in the final NSCAA poll.
