Nike Softball Camps totally immerse you in the sport, giving you the kind of focused, intensive training essential for improvement - no matter what your ability level. Every facet of the game is covered - hitting, fielding, base running, team play and more. Our goals is that your performance as an overall player will improve, along with your self-confidence but it is up to each player to take what they have learned and apply it to gametime situations.

St. Catherine's University, a small private school atop the city’s second-highest hill in St. Paul, Minnesota hosts the 2012 Nike Softball Camp. The two day clinic gives players of all ability levels a challenging but fun way to learn the correct softball techniques. Daily instruction takes place at the University's Softball Field.

Camp Director
Madge Makowske
Coach Makowske enters her 17th season as the head coach of the Wildcat Softball program. Under Coach Makowske’s leadership the Wildcats have had back-to-back 20-plus wins in a season, have broken countless school records, and moved up in the MIAC rankings. Makowske’s teams have also continued to maintain academic honors with the NFCA for their team GPA. The Wildcats have consistently been ranked in the top 40 for team GPA. Their highest finish was in 2001 when the team placed eighth in the nation.

In addition to her duties with the softball team, Madge also serves as the associate athletic director and compliance officer for the athletic department. She has also served on both the NCAA Midwest Regional Ranking Committee and the NFCA top 25 ranking committee.
Before arriving at St. Kate’s, Madge spent five years as the head softball coach at Anoka-Ramsey Community College. In 1994, she led her ARCC team to a second-place finish at the Minnesota Community College State championships, the team's highest finish in school history. Makowske maintains certifications through the National Fastpitch Coaches Association, the American Red Cross and the USA Weightlifting Association. She recently completed her Four Star Master Coach through the National Fastpitch Coaches Association which is the highest certification that a softball coach can attain.
In college Madge established herself as a versatile and dominant athlete. She competed in five intercollegiate sports including softball, soccer, basketball, tennis, and volleyball. During the 1986-87 school year Makowse was named Most Dedicated in volleyball, basketball, and softball. She was also named MVP in softball. In 1986, she was also named the school's Female athlete of the year and the Most Valuable Student-Athlete (male or female) for her academic and athletic success.
US Sports Camps combines with Nike and USA/ASA Softball to offer the Nike Softball Camps sponsored by USA Softball.
USA Softball is the brand created, operated and owned by the ASA that links the USA Men's, Women's, Junior Boys' and Junior Girls' National Team programs together. USA Softball is responsible for training, equipping and promoting these four National Teams to compete in international and domestic competitions.
Whichever program you do decide on, each Nike Softball Camp staff member is ready to work with you and provide the best possible softball experience while you train and strive to be a better softball player.

Fielding Clinic: Monday, between 12:45-1:00 pm
