Camp Details

Maximizing swimming potential through a holistic training approach is the mission of Peak Performance Swim Camp. To fulfill our mission, we seek to empower our swimmers through a two-tiered process of teaching and training. The teaching side includes daily chalk talks, video presentations, and ongoing poolside demonstrations. In addition, a targeted teaching strategy focused on swimmers’ individual needs is employed.

2023 OVERVIEW
  • Dates: September 9-10
  • Age Group: 8-18
  • Gender: Coed
  • Camp Type: Day Camp
  • Schedule: 10:00am-4:00pm, Saturday-Sunday
  • Check-In: 9:45am on Saturday. Camp Check-In take place at the pool deck, located at the Pool. Swimmers must arrive to camp wearing their swimsuit underneath their dry-land clothing.
  • Lunch: Lunch is not provided. Please bring a packed lunch.
  • 4-Stroke Camp: For competitive swimmers ages 8-18. Our two day, 4-Stroke Camp provides concentrated work in all four competitive strokes and offers quick-fix solutions that work. Areas of concentration include body position, pulling, kicking, breathing, and timing. It’s the complete package over one weekend!

There’s a fundamental difference in how swimmers should train the long axis versus short axis strokes. Long axis strokes, backstroke and freestyle, involve side-to-side body rotation. Short axis strokes, butterfly and breaststroke, involve front-to-back rotation. Physical fitness can only take swimmers so far, but fitness plus the right technique can turbocharge their performance. PEAK coaches are masters at teaching and training, and our 1-on-1 attention provided to each swimmer sets PEAK apart from the rest. Learn from the PEAK pros and get the winning edge!

Note: This is NOT a learn-to-swim program, but specifically designed for competitive swimmers who can perform multiple lengths of all four strokes and the official starts and turns. Swimmers at camp are assigned to lanes based on ability level. The daily skill progressions and challenging swim sets are adjusted to reflect skill and performance levels.

PEAK'S COMMITMENT TO CAMPER WELLNESS

It is with passion and great pleasure that we conduct Peak Performance Swim Camps and Clinics year-round, and have the opportunity to meet and coach swimmers around the world. However, it is of utmost importance to PEAK that we maintain an environment in which transmission of the COVID-19 virus is significantly reduced. We have taken enhanced health and safety measures – for our campers and our staff. The following procedures for all campers and their families must be adhered to during our camps and clinics.

  1. Campers must wear a mask upon arrival and departure each day, and during non-exercise physical activities. Masks should fully cover the nose and mouth and secure under the chin.
  2. Campers must arrive and depart each day in their swimsuit underneath their dry-land clothing.
  3. Locker rooms will be closed, so campers will not be allowed to change or shower before/after camp.
  4. Restroom use is limited to 1 camper at a time.
  5. Bring your own water bottle, properly labeled and already filled.
  6. Do not bring personal pool equipment such as fins, pull buoys, or kick boards.
  7. Upon arrival each day, swimmers will be screened and their temperature will be taken before entering the pool facility.
  8. Parents should drive their vehicle up to the designated drop-off location, where a PEAK staff member will greet you. The swimmer will remain in the car and roll down their window, while our staff administers a forehead temperature check and daily COVID screening. When complete, the swimmer may exit their car and proceed to their designated waiting area before entering the pool.
  9. Parents and other family members may not stay in the facility during the camp to observe the sessions, as the facility is closed to spectators.
  10. PEAK staff will wear a mask upon daily arrival and departure, and maintain 6 feet social distancing throughout camp activities.
  11. Additional adjustments are in place to maintain social distancing such as: smaller camp size, limited registration, fewer swimmers per lane, and signage and ground markings. Swimmers are designated an area to place personal belongings and a waiting area before entering the pool.
  12. PEAK staff have been instructed on extended virus safety precautions and have been reminded to wash their hands regularly. Hand sanitizer will also be used routinely by campers and staff between camp activities.
  13. Cleaning and disinfection procedures are enhanced throughout camp operations and the host pool facility.
  14. If a camper consistently does not respect and adhere to social distancing guidelines, they may be asked to sit out.
  15. Any swimmer experiencing any symptoms of fever, recent cough, unusual fatigue, headache, difficulty breathing, or has been exposed to someone who has any symptoms should remain home and seek medical treatment.
  16. If any camper has a fever or symptoms of illnesses, they may not attend camp until 14 days after the fever or other symptoms has ceased.
  17. Campers must see a physician and be cleared for participation after being diagnosed or suspected of having COVID-19.
  18. For everyone’s health and safety, we ask PEAK campers and staff to please practice responsible social distancing when they are away from the pool.

Peak Performance Swim Camp is following social distancing and sanitizing guidelines as it relates to COVID-19 as set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), local government authorities, and USA Swimming. An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present; we cannot guarantee you will not be exposed during your visit.
