Our 5-day swim camp near The Big Apple features three competition training levels - from novice to advance to elite swimmers, ages 8-18 years.

In order for a swimmer to realize their full swimming potential they must be mentally, technically and physically fit. Contrary to popular belief, physical fitness by itself is not enough. A swimmer must also possess a high degree of mental and technical fitness.

At Peak Performance we pride ourselves in offering a balance between physical, technical and mental training. Referring to the chart below Peak 1 offers a 75/25 blend of physical conditioning and technical conditioning. Peak 2 offers a 50/50 blend of physical and technical conditioning. And Peak 3 offers a 25/75 blend of physical and technical conditioning. In addition, all of our camps offer an in-depth mental conditioning curriculum designed to enhance a swimmer's self-esteem, develop focus skills and improve the ability to perform in stressful situations.

Camp Details

The Greenwich Family YMCA will be hosting two sessions of camp this summer (June 26-30 - camp page & August 7-11). Our daily goal at Peak Performance Swim Camp is to implement our philosophy to the fullest. We employ a one-of-a-kind holistic training approach that conditions swimmers both inside and out. We believe swimmers are only as good as the sum of their parts, meaning those who lack essential mental, technical, or physical conditioning can never maximize their swimming potential.

PEAK 1:

Well-suited for advanced age group and senior-level swimmers, ages 11-18, who train 5,000 yards/meters (or greater) per practice.

PEAK 1 is our most challenging swim camp. The camp builds throughout the week in both intensity and expectation. State-of-the-art skill progressions are combined with challenging swim sets. Swimmers are challenged to maintain their newly acquired skills throughout each set. Each day begins with a powerful mental presentation emphasizing the important role that the mind plays in peak swimming performance. The underlying “positive mental message” is repeated throughout the day to heighten its impact and create lasting change. Each day of camp ends on a high note with swimmers feeling mentally, technically, and physically empowered.

In addition to our 8 challenging in-water training sessions, PEAK 1 also includes 4 intense dry-land training sessions, 3 swimming related yoga sessions, and 4 inspiring mental conditioning sessions.

Note: Peak 1 is not well suited for swimmers with swimming-related injuries.

CHECK-IN
Check-in will be between 12:30 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. on August 7 at the Greenwich YMCA.

CAMP FINALE
The camp concludes at 1:00 PM on August 11. A special Gold Medal Award Ceremony will be held at approximately 12:30 PM. Parents are encouraged to attend.

PEAK 2:

Ideally suited for developmental, intermediate, and advanced age group swimmers, ages 9-16, who train between 3,000 to 5,000 yards/meters per practice.

PEAK 2 is the lead-up camp to PEAK 1. The daily structure of PEAK 2 is similar to PEAK 1, but the skill progressions and challenging swim sets are adjusted to reflect skill and performance levels. Lane assignments for swimmers are based on ability level rather than age. Like PEAK 1, each day begins with a powerful mental presentation emphasizing the important role that the mind plays in peak swimming performance. The underlying “positive mental message” is repeated throughout the day to heighten its impact and create lasting change. Each day of camp ends on a high note with swimmers feeling mentally, technically, and physically empowered.

In addition to our 8 challenging in-water training sessions, PEAK 2 also includes 4 intense dry-land training sessions, 3 swimming related yoga sessions, and 4 inspiring mental conditioning sessions.

PEAK 3:

Ideally suited for swimmers, ages 8-12, who have two or less years of competitive swimming experience, and train less than 3,000 yards/meters per practice.

PEAK 3 is the lead-up camp to PEAK 2. Participants should possess the maturity and discipline to handle 2 hours of in-water training per day plus 30 minutes of dry-land training. Participants should also exhibit a basic understanding of the four competitive strokes and turns, and the two competitive starts (front and back). Rather than offer generic sets, each practice is created to reflect the group’s needs and talent level.

The PEAK 3 package includes: 5 in-water training sessions, 5 dry-land training sessions, and 5 mental conditioning sessions.

Check-in will be between 10:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on August 7 at the Greenwich YMCA.

CAMP FINALE
The camp concludes at 2:00 PM on August 11. A special Gold Medal Award Ceremony will be held at approximately 1:45 PM. Parents are encouraged to attend.

    Dear Coach Baker, My girls had an awesome time at the Greenwich Camp last week. They have not stopped talking about it and are truly excited about swimming again! I believe your approach was integral in making this a meaningful experience for them to apply the principles they learned for swimming as well as other aspects of life.     Amazing!

    Coach Nick, I just wanted to drop you a note about the great weekend my son had at States after seeing you. He dropped over 1 second in 50 BR, over 4 seconds in 100 BR, 15 seconds in 200 BR, over 4  seconds in 200 IM, and over 2 seconds in 100 FR. We can’t thank you enough for the time you have spent with him and giving him the tools and knowledge he needs to excel. And we can’t wait to get back to another camp!

    wonderful experience

    My daughter had a wonderful experience at PEAK Summer Camp. This year’s experience will go a long way in her preparing for this season. There was never a dull moment in 5 days. Not a minute wasted. And she truly enjoyed meeting and swimming with swimmers of her age group. The private session and the video analysis are invaluable and a great investment. My daughter can’t wait to get back to the pool to practice what she learned. She appreciates the mental and physical conditioning that went with the camp. It was truly a holistic approach that Coach Nick and the team took to teach the kids. Thank you, Coach Nick and Staff, for your continued dedication to these kids.     Nick, I’m at JO’s tonight and another coach comes up to me and tells me that our breaststrokers look really good. I told him that I had learned the technique from you and somehow it had permeated through the whole team. One of our girls even got the NSCA cut in the 200.
