Maximizing swimming potential through a holistic training approach is the mission of Peak Performance Swim Camp. To fulfill our mission, we seek to empower our swimmers through a two-tiered process of teaching and training. The teaching side includes daily chalk talks, video presentations, and ongoing poolside demonstrations. In addition, a targeted teaching strategy focused on swimmers’ individual needs is employed.

At Peak Performance we pride ourselves in offering a balance between physical, technical and mental training. Peak 1 offers a 75/25 blend of physical and technical conditioning. Peak 2 offers a 50/50 blend of physical and technical conditioning. And Peak 3 offers a 25/75 blend of physical and technical conditioning. In addition, all of our camps offer an in-depth mental conditioning curriculum designed to enhance a swimmer's self-esteem, develop focus skills and improve the ability to perform in stressful situations.

More Important Camp Details

PEAK 1:

Open to swimmers ages 11-18 who train 5,000 yards/meters (or greater) per practice.

PEAK 1 is our most challenging camp. It is well suited for accomplished senior-level swimmers and elite-level age group swimmers. Participants must be mentally, technically, and physically prepared to endure the rigors of 4 hours of in-water training per day plus 1 hour of dry-land training per day. Approximately 75% of the total pool time is dedicated to physical conditioning; however, all sets include significant mental and technical expectations.

Rather than offer a series of generic training sets, each practice is created to reflect the group’s needs and talent level. In addition, we do not condone garbage yardage or mindless meters. Each lap of practice must have purpose!

All-together PEAK 1 includes: 8 challenging in-water training sessions, 4 dry-land training sessions, 2-4 yoga sessions, and 5 mental conditioning sessions.

Note: Peak 1 is not well suited for swimmers with swimming-related injuries.

Check-in
Camp Check-In and Orientation, for both swimmers and parents, will take place between 12:30 PM - 1:15 PM, in the Aquatics foyer of the Boys and Girls Club. Swimmers will start camp immediately following, and should arrive wearing swimsuits underneath their dry-land clothing.

Camp Finale
The camp concludes at 1:00 PM on August 26. A special Gold Medal Award Ceremony will be held at approximately 12:30 PM. Parents are encouraged to attend.

PEAK 2:

Open to swimmers ages 8-18 who train between 3,000 to 5,000 yards/meters per practice.

PEAK 2 offers a 50/50 blend of technical and physical conditioning and well suited for medium to elite-level age group swimmers who have qualified for top age group competition in their state/province. Participants must possess the maturity and discipline to handle 4 hours of in-water training per day plus 1 hour of dry-land training per day. In addition, they must exhibit a high degree of technical competency and physical fitness. Participants must be able to perform all four competitive strokes and turns and the three competitive starts (front, back, relay).

Rather than offer a series of generic training sets, each practice is created to reflect the group’s needs and talent level. In addition, we do not condone garbage yardage or mindless meters. Each lap of practice must have purpose!

PEAK 3:

Open to swimmers ages 8-13 who train less than 3,000 yards/meters per practice.

PEAK 3 offers a 75/25 blend of technical and physical conditioning and well suited for swimmers with competitive swimming experience of three or less years, or who have not yet qualified for top age group competition. Participants must possess the maturity and discipline to handle 2 hours of in-water training per day plus 30 minutes of dry-land training per day. In addition, they must exhibit a high degree of technical competency and physical fitness. Participants must be able to perform all four competitive strokes and turns and the three competitive starts (front, back, relay) at a rudimentary (or above) level.

Camper Reviews

Parent of PEAK Westchester Camper '15

Our daughter attended the Mt. Kisco camp in August 2011. She had a rough swim season immediately before coming to camp. She had broken her foot in the beginning of short course and was out of the pool for about 2 months. During the 2010-2011 season she had lost her desire to swim and was on the verge of quitting by the end of long course. You may remember her as the little girl that cried the first day of camp-she was simply emotionally drained. Following camp, and especially her private lesson with you, her swimming and attitude has done a 180. Her time drops are simply astounding, anywhere from over 19 seconds in her 100 BK and 100 IM to almost 10 seconds in her 100 BR to almost 30 seconds on her 200 FR! She is most definitely “swimming positive”, her new outlook had positive impact in her dedication and enjoyment of the sport, and also her relationship with her club coach. She loves swimming again. Her hard work and dedication has taken her, for the first time, to Silvers with the hope that she will make JO’s soon. We constantly talk about “what would Coach Baker say?” and very much look forward to attending again this summer. Thank you for making such a difference!

Wonderful experience.

Once again, thank you so much for the wonderful time at your camp. Max was so happy when he returned home and has since improved in all of his times. He recently dropped 16 seconds in his 400 IM. It was a great pleasure to watch you and your staff in action.

Such a great camp.

We had our Georgia Age Group Long Course State Meet this past weekend. I had a great meet! I knocked 5 seconds off my 100 FL for first place and a AAAA Time. I also finished first in my 50 FL with another AAAA Time. All together I had 9 out of 10 best times. I came away with 7 AAAA Times and placed fourth or better in all ten races. I also took home the Long Course High Point award. I feel like I learned so much in camp and took away a lot of valuable information. I swam in a meet the weekend before the camp and had almost all best times. Coming back from camp, I wasn't expecting to get a lot of best times. Boy was I wrong! Thanks again for such a great camp.

We will definitely be back.

My sons, Josh (15) and Ethan (10), spent time between X-mas & New Years at your camp in Orlando. Josh is struggling as he just moved up to 15 & O last month. Ethan has been a successful club swimmer with Ben Davis & Dave Little at Wildcat Aquatics here in Lexington, KY. Anyway, to make a long story short, Josh dropped times in all events, but the dramatic improvement in Ethan's strokes, especially his backstroke after your camp were awe-inspiring. Ethan has been a wonderful and fast swimmer, but his improvement at the Pilot Meet in Knoxville this past weekend was amazing. He attributes it to the fine tuning and great coaching he received with your "team". He finished 1st in the 50 breast (-2 sec) and 50 free (-1.6 sec), second in the 50 back (-2.4 sec), 100 back (-3.5 sec) and 100 fly (-1.8 sec) and third in the 100 breast (-2.5 sec), 100 free (-.8 sec), and 50 fly (+.3 sec). Several of these were 'AAAA' times as well, only one time below "AAA' by a hair. He also crushed his leg (fly) of the 200 medley with his team for a first place also.

Needless to say, we will be returning, and advertising your program to all our extended swim families as well. I'm sure that you hear these things alot and probably have many letters to hang on walls, but this is my first time writing to ANY program. Our kids learned alot, brought it to the pool and had fun doing so.

Thanks to you and your team, please feel free to share this with them.

LOVED it!

My daughter attended the camp in Westchester over the long weekend and LOVED it. She said the work was hard but good and the instruction great, because “they show us what to do, not just tell us.” We will definitely be coming back!
