July 2017 TBD Peak Performance Swim Camp

The Seattle Peak Performance Swim Camp takes place at the University of Washington. Our beloved swim camp at UW features two training levels for competitive swimmers ages 8-18, and offers both day and overnight packages.

Maximizing swimming potential through a holistic training approach is the mission of Peak Performance Swim Camp. To fulfill our mission, we seek to empower our swimmers through a two-tiered process of teaching and training. The teaching side includes daily chalk talks, video presentations, and ongoing poolside demonstrations. In addition, a targeted teaching strategy focused on swimmers’ individual needs is employed.

We pride ourselves in offering a balance between physical, technical and mental training. Peak 1 offers a 75/25 blend of physical and technical conditioning while Peak 2 offers a 50/50 blend of physical and technical conditioning. In addition, this camp offers an in-depth mental conditioning curriculum designed to enhance a swimmer's self-esteem, develop focus skills and improve the ability to perform in stressful situations.

More Important Camp Details

PEAK 1:

Open to swimmers ages 11-18 who train 5,000 yards/meters (or greater) per practice.

PEAK 1 is our most challenging camp. It is well suited for accomplished senior-level swimmers and elite-level age group swimmers. Participants must be mentally, technically, and physically prepared to endure the rigors of 4 hours of in-water training per day plus 1 hour of dry-land training per day. Approximately 75% of the total pool time is dedicated to physical conditioning; however, all sets include significant mental and technical expectations.

Rather than offer a series of generic training sets, each practice is created to reflect the group’s needs and talent level. In addition, we do not condone garbage yardage or mindless meters. Each lap of practice must have purpose!

All-together PEAK 1 includes: 8 challenging in-water training sessions, 4 dry-land training sessions, 2-4 yoga sessions, and 5 mental conditioning sessions.

Note: Peak 1 is not well suited for swimmers with swimming-related injuries.

PEAK 2:

Open to swimmers ages 8-18 who train between 3,000 to 5,000 yards/meters per practice.

PEAK 2 offers a 50/50 blend of technical and physical conditioning and well suited for medium to elite-level age group swimmers who have qualified for top age group competition in their state/province. Participants must possess the maturity and discipline to handle 4 hours of in-water training per day plus 1 hour of dry-land training per day. In addition, they must exhibit a high degree of technical competency and physical fitness. Participants must be able to perform all four competitive strokes and turns and the three competitive starts (front, back, relay).

Rather than offer a series of generic training sets, each practice is created to reflect the group’s needs and talent level. In addition, we do not condone garbage yardage or mindless meters. Each lap of practice must have purpose!

All-together PEAK 2 includes: 8 challenging in-water training sessions, 4 dry-land training sessions, 2-4 yoga sessions, and 5 mental conditioning sessions.

Thank you again!

Many thanks to Coach Nick and his staff for an amazing week in Seattle! My daughter is focused, and has planned how she will incorporate what she learned from all of you as she prepares for college swimming. It was so great to see her smiling again from the pool. Hopefully her confidence will continue to grow. I know she's looking forward to updating you on her progress. Thank you again!

Helped me tremendously!

Coach, thanks for the amazing opportunity to improve and make changes to my stroke. You have helped me tremendously in pointing out my mistakes but also pointing out my strengths. Thanks again to you and the PEAK coaches for all the help and confidence that you have given me.

Wonderful experience!

My daughter had a wonderful experience at PEAK Summer Camp. This year’s experience will go a long way in her preparing for this season. There was never a dull moment in 5 days. Not a minute wasted. And she truly enjoyed meeting and swimming with swimmers of her age group. The private session and the video analysis are invaluable and a great investment. My daughter can’t wait to get back to the pool to practice what she learned. She appreciates the mental and physical conditioning that went with the camp. It was truly a holistic approach that Coach Nick and the team took to teach the kids. Thank you, Coach Nick and Staff, for your continued dedication to these kids. The techniques and approach that you use not only helps the kids in their sport, but will help them in life as well.

Amazing!

Our family has had two kids at camps, of varied skill levels, in multiple years. PEAK does an excellent job of tailoring the instruction to the sill level and experience of the individual swimmers. I am amazed at Coach Nick and the staff's ability to remember swimmers (and their strengths and challenges) from year to year. Recommend without equivocation!!

Thanks so much!

Thank you for coaching me and helping me with all my strokes. I had an amazing time in your camp. I just came back from Junior Olympics and I got a medal in every single race. I got a 34.59 in my 50 FL because you helped me with my technique. I also got a first place in my 50 BR and 100 BR because of you. I still wear my Swim Positive bracelet and look forward to training with you again.

wonderful time!

Once again, thank you so much for the wonderful time at your camp. Max was so happy when he returned home and has since improved in all of his times. He recently dropped 16 seconds in his 400 IM. It was a great pleasure to watch you and your staff in action.
