Dick Gould's Stanford Advanced Tennis School, open to 3.5 and above players, is celebrating it's 44th year this summer! Coaching legend and Director of Tennis at Stanford, Dick Gould, along with his wife, Anne, founded and direct this renowned adult tennis camp.
Stanford University is known as the “Home of Champions.” Its' men's and women's teams have recorded 34 national team titles in the last 39 years! Host of men's and women's NCAA Championships in 2006 and 2011, the Stanford campus, located 30 minutes south of San Francisco, features The Taube Tennis Stadium, one of the finest tennis facilities in the country.
Each session includes progressive tennis instruction in:
1. Serve, return, serve and volley
2. Ball machine and feeding drills (groundstrokes and netplay)
3. Doubles play and strategy
With a camper to staff ratio of 4:1 you are sure to hit a ton of balls!

Dick Gould
- The John L. Hinds Director of Tennis - 8 years (2005-present)
- Stanford men's tennis head coach - 38 years (1966-2004)
- Winningest coach in Stanford men's tennis history (776-148 for a winning percentage of .840)
- 17 NCAA Team Championships (89-10 in NCAA Tournament competition since format change In 1977) (Stanford reached 17 of these NCAA team finals and won 15)
Director Dick Gould, a coaching legend having won 17 NCAA Championships in 38 years as Stanford’s varsity men’s tennis coach, was elected into the the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame, San Jose Sports Hall of Fame and the Intercollegiate Tennis Hall of Fame. He was named “ITA Coach of the Decade” for the 1980’s and the 1990’s, and coached 9 Stanford players who later reached top 15 in the world ATP singles rankings, including John McEnroe, as well as seven #1 world doubles players.
Gould and his wife, Anne, the former Stanford University women's tennis coach from 1976-79 who led the Cardinal to its first women's national team championship in 1978.

Program
The Advanced Players Clinic is designed for adult players with a NTRP rating of 3.5 and above. Directed by Dick Gould, this is a two day program which includes instructional drills, match strategy with an emphasis on doubles.

2013 Dates: June 15-16 (Saturday and Sunday)
The hours of the clinic are Saturday and Sunday, 9:00am-12noon and 2:00pm-5:00pm. Campers should bring their own lunch. Each session includes progressive instruction in:
1. Serve, return, serve and volley
2. Ball machine drills (groundstrokes and netplay)
3. Feeding drills and singles strategy
4. Doubles play and strategy
With a camper to staff ratio of 4:1 you are sure hit a ton of balls!
Registration
Arrive 15 minutes prior to the beginning of the first camp session. Meet at The Taube Family Tennis Stadium (track side). Remember to bring a tennis racquet and your completed health and release forms. Campers cannot be admitted without these forms. (There are three forms in total.)
Please note: This is a Day Camp only and runs during the hours listed above. The camp tuition DOES NOT include housing. Campers are required to provide their own overnight accommodations.
Details:
• 4 players per court
• Lunch is not provided. Campers may want to bring their own lunches rather than leave the premises.
• Check in 15 minutes prior to the first session.
Parking
The best place to park is in the Track House lot, although parking is free and no permits are required in any lot on the weekend.
Registration Packet
A detailed camper registration packet containing check in location, health/release forms, emergency contact info, and a list of things to bring will be emailed to all registered campers in the Spring. Our health and release forms do not require a doctor's signature and they will be collected on the first day of camp.
