Nike Tennis Camps is excited to be hosting a camp at The Bolles School this summer! Spend your summer at tennis camp working on your tennis game and making new friends! This summer camp is for young athletes ages 9-18 of all skill levels to come and vastly improve their tennis game.
At the Nike Tennis Camp at The Bolles School campers will work hard and have a lot of fun. Our goal is to give players the opportunity to hit thousands of balls, improve their technique, and be challenged by some of the best players in their peer group. Our tennis camps combine technical tennis instruction and drilling from a top notch coaching staff, supervised match play, and some free time to spend with friends.

The Bolles School is a private college preparatory school with an international reputation for excellence. Located in Jacksonville, Florida, the school enrolls more than 1,700 boarding and day students in pre-kindergarten through grade 1. The Bolles School offers 8 outdoor hard courts.
Recognized as one of the top programs in the nation, Bolles continues a strong tradition of excellence in upper school athletics. Bolles teams have won a total of 98 team state titles in 15 different sports, along with 73 state runner-up finishes. In 2009, ESPN RISE ranked Bolles as the #1 boys’ athletic program in the country and MaxPreps named Bolles the third best overall athletic program nationally in the same year. In 2005, Sports Illustrated ranked Bolles as the ninth best athletic program out of 38,000 high schools in the nation over the previous 10 years. Bolles earned a statewide all-sports award for the 31st year in 2011.
Meet your coaching staffTina Ganger-Smith
Tina Ganger-Smith first joined the Bolles tennis program in 1983. In her time at Bolles, she has guided the girls’ team to three state titles (2004, 2005, 2007), 21 district titles, 21 regional titles, and four state runners-up titles. Ganger-Smith has earned several coach-of-the-year honors, including the FHSAA Class 2A Dairy Farmers Coach-of-the-Year Award in 2005 and 2007.
Read Full BioGanger-Smith began her professional teaching career in 1979 and has held a variety of positions in tennis. She served as Tennis Director at Epping Forest Yacht Club for 11 years, served as a United States Tennis Association High Performance Coach for Zone Team Florida, she directed the Northeast Florida Player Development Program, served four years on the Junior Competitive Council for Florida, and has coached numerous sectional and national ranked players, as well as professional players.
In the summer of 2006, Ganger-Smith served as the Team Florida coach at the United States Tennis Association's 64th Annual Girls 18 National Team Championships. The tournament, held at Blackhawk Country Club in Danville, California, included 16 teams with some of the top 17-18 year old players in the country. Ganger-Smith’s Florida squad placed fourth in the tournament and one of the players earned an overall sportsmanship award.
Ganger-Smith also directs the Bolles community after-school program, introducing the sport to and developing young athletes ages five and up. Annually, the top ranked players in the state and nation from Northeast Florida train in this program. Many players from the program receive scholarships from NCAA Division I colleges and go on to successful collegiate careers.
Ganger-Smith earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education and kinesiology from Pepperdine University in her home state of California. She played number one singles and doubles for the Waves’ tennis team. She still holds the school record for most matches won in a season and helped her team rank 12th nationally as a senior.
She and her husband, David, have been married for 15 years. Her son Zachary, a 2004 Bolles graduate, played tennis at the collegiate level for the University of Utah where he played number one singles and doubles for the Utes’ tennis team. David is currently the Head Tennis Pro at the San Jose Country Club located in Jacksonville, FL.
Program
This year we are offering one week of Overnight and Day Camps (9:00am-4:00pm) for kids ages 9-18 of all abilities. Lunch is included for all Day Campers.
Upon arrival, all participants are evaluated by the staff so that their own instructional needs can be addressed throughout the week.
Check-in
• All Campers: 2:30pm on Sunday
• Campers should come dressed to play as we will head straight to the courts after check-in.
Check-Out
• All campers: 11:30am on Friday
Dorms
Campers will reside in the dorms on campus. Campers stay 2 per room and are assigned by age and roommate requests.
Weekend Stayovers: Weekend stayovers are not available at this location.
Designated Airport: Jacksonville International Airport
Travel
Nike Tennis Camp does not provide any transportation to/from camp from airport, train stations or bus depots. If you fly into camp, we recommend that you fly into the Jacksonville International airport and take a taxi or shuttle to camp.
If you have a camper arriving by air and is deemed an “unaccompanied minor” by the airlines and must be met by a camp staff or shuttle company employee, there may be a fee that needs to be paid in advance of camp. You will still have to arrange transportation to/from camp. Please call 1-800-645-3226 two weeks prior to camp to provide camper’s flight and shuttle information.
Registration Packet
A detailed camper registration packet containing check in location, health/release forms, emergency contact info, and a list of things to bring will be emailed to all registered campers in the Spring. Our health and release forms do not require a doctor's signature and they will be collected on the first day of camp.
