Nike Tennis Camps is thrilled to offer a Spring Break and Summer Camp at California State University, East Bay for 2014! Join us to elevate your game in a safe and friendly atmosphere! Our goal is to provide every camper the opportunity to hit a ton of balls, improve their technique and match play skills, and learn in a fun environment with other players in their peer group.
The Spring Break and Summer Nike Tennis Camps at CSU East Bay are geared towards players ages 5-18 of all ability levels. We offer both Full Day and Half Day camp options with an All Skills program (ages 9-18) and a "10 & Under Tennis" program for kids age 5-10 just learning the sport. Our youth tennis camps combine fundamentals, technical tennis instruction and drilling from a superb coaching staff and supervised match play. Join the fun and get better this summer!

Bill Patton is a USPTA and PTR certified Tennis Professional with 25+ years experience coaching, and over 200 units of continued education in Tennis.
Bill considers himself an educator first. He has a B.S. in Psychology and has written his Masters Thesis in Education. Coach Patton's main success has been working with high school teams at all levels from last place teams that learned to win, to first place teams filled with USTA ranked juniors. His most recent major success as a coach was helping Mission San Jose to sweep league Singles, Doubles and Team Titles during each season, as well as defeating two #2 and two #1 seeded teams in North Coast Section playoff action. MSJ boy's defeated #2, and #1 seeded teams in the same day in 97 degree heat to win the NCS Title in 2009.
Team building has always been his specialty, bringing people together to for a cohesive community experience, to go along with his superlative teaching ability and varied activities to teach the whole game.
Bill has lived in the East Bay his whole life and is married with one adult son and a daughter in high school. "It's important for me to have an opportunity to engage with every student on court. I want everyone at camp to get a chance to love the sport and feel a part of things. In addition, everyone has something new they can learn, so even if you have been to an academy, we can find ways for you to make dramatic improvements." Bill emphatically states.
Andrew has thirty- five years teaching experience for private clubs, country clubs and Resorts. Students have received many rankings, college scholarships and NCAA titles. Instructional program includes team practices, instructional leagues, camps, specialty clinics, drop in, after school, junior development, tournament training, group and private lessons. Coaching experience includes National City Team, Jr. Davis Cup Clinics and High School.
As a player Andrew held rankings in Northern California as high as #2 in Boy's 16's. He also played on National Junior Circuit, coached by Martin "Blackie" Jones and Dennis Van der Meer. He attended the University of Utah on a full athletic scholarship and was crowned the Western Athletic Conference Singles Champion, while coached by HOF Harry R. James and James Osbourne. Webb also played professionally and was ranked in NorCal, Intermountain and USPTA and was a practice partner for Ken Rosewall.
2014 Camp Information

This year we are offering a Spring Break Camp session from April 14-18, 2014! We will also be offering three summer day camp sessions.
Spring and Summer campers can choose between Full Day (9:00am-4:00pm) or Half Day morning (9:00am-12:00 noon) camp options. These camps are ideally suited for all levels and ages 5-18. Upon arrival, all participants are evaluated by the staff so that their own instructional needs can be addressed throughout the week.
10 and Under Tennis:
In addition to the "All Skills" program, during our Spring Break and Summer camps we offer a “10 and Under Tennis” (Half Day Camp) program, featuring the USTA’s successful new teaching format. This is an exciting new way kids 10 and under are learning to play tennis as well as compete. The courts are smaller and balls are low-compression so they are easier to hit, allowing kids to get to the ball and develop optimal swing patterns. It all makes it easy and fun for them to hit, play and score from the start, while developing skills that will last a lifetime. Please note: This program is optional and younger campers may opt to play regular tennis on the full courts. Selected 10 and under players may play in All Skills camp at discretion of camp director. Check-in and Check-out times:
Check-in: Full and Half Day campers: 8:30am on Monday at the tennis at parking lot adjacent to baseball and football field (more info in registration packet).
Check-out: Half Day Campers: 12:00 noon on Friday at the tennis courts.
Full Day campers: 4:00pm on Friday at the tennis courts.
Daily Schedule and Information
• Full Day Camp runs 9:00am to 4:00pm (Monday through Friday).
• Half Day camp runs daily from 9:00am-12:00pm
• The lunch hour is fully supervised, but lunch is NOT provided. Full day campers should bring their own lunch daily. Half Day campers leave before lunch.
Campers will play on 12 outdoor courts. In case of inclement weather campers with have move to an indoor classroom for strectching and fitness and video analysis and instruction.
A detailed camper registration packet containing check in location, health/release forms, emergency contact info, and a list of things to bring will be emailed to all registered campers in the Spring. Our health and release forms do not require a doctor's signature and they will be collected on the first day of camp.

- 9:00am-9:25am Warm-Up/Intro/Agilities/Stretching
- 9:25am-10:45am Stroke Fundamentals and/or situational point development rotations
- 10:45am-12:00 noon Competitive Games while working on fundamentals and/or strategy
- Noon-1:00pm Supervised lunch
- 1:00pm-2:30pm Stroke Fundamentals or situational point development rotations
- 2:30pm-3:30pm Singles/Doubles Tournament Play with Coaching
- 3:30pm-4:00pm Conditioning/Competitive Group Game
