Co-Director
Frankie Brennan
• Associate Head Coach for Stanford Women's Tennis Team
• 2005 Northwest Region ITA Assistant Coach of the Year
Frankie Brennan enters his 17th year as an assistant coach on The Farm, having previously served as an assistant coach for 16 seasons with the program.
At the start of the 2010-11 campaign, Brennan was elevated to the position of associate head coach.
During his time as an assistant coach, Brennan has tutored numerous student-athletes to All-America and Pac-10 accolades. Since joining the staff, he has helped guide the Cardinal to a 399-24 overall record, eight national championships and 14 conference titles.
The 2009-10 campaign illustrated the most recent example of Brennan's impact on the program, with Stanford claiming its 16th NCAA team championship and first since a dominant three-year title run ended in 2006.
Brennan's contributions last year were highlighted with Hilary Barte and Lindsay Burdette capturing Stanford's 13th overall collegiate doubles title and first since 2005. During the fall season, Forood designated Brennan as the primary coach for Barte and Burdette in doubles. The move worked well as Stanford's top duo flourished under Brennan's tutelage, with Barte and Burdette finishing 42-6 overall and winning three doubles titles in addition to the national championship. Furthermore, the lower half of the singles lineup (Nos. 4-6) proved to be a strength for Stanford, with the group combining for a 65-11 record with Brennan patrolling the back courts.
In 2005, Brennan was recognized as the 2005 ITA Northwest Region Assistant Coach of the Year. In 2003, Brennan's efforts were recognized on a higher level when he was named the ITA National Assistant Coach of the Year.
Brennan, son of legendary former head coach Frank Brennan, Sr., was a two-time all-conference player for the University of Redlands, where he helped the team to a Final Four appearance in 1993 and a fifth-place national finish in 1994. He was also a two-time All-Conference honoree at Foothill Junior College, where he helped lead the team to a semifinal appearance in the state championships in 1991 and a runner-up finish in 1992.
In 1991, Brennan was voted as The Times Tribune Athlete of the week twice, named MVP of the tennis team and nominated as The Times Tribune Athlete of the Year. He was also nominated for the Foothill College Male Athlete of the Year.
Brennan was head coach of the women's tennis team at the University of Redlands in 1995 before coming to work for his father in 1996. He has also worked for the United States Tennis Association, assisting in the Area Training Center and serving as a USTA zonal coach. Brennan has also been a hitting partner for Venus Williams and other top professionals at the Bank of the West Classic. Brennan also played a few years on the satellite circuit.
Brennan prepped at St. Francis and Los Altos High schools, where he was a four-year letterwinner in both tennis and football. He finished his senior year on the East Coast at Mt. St. Joseph High School in Vermont, where he was a standout running back on their State Championship football team.
A third generation coach, Brennan and his family have been involved with coaching tennis for years. His grandfather was Billie Jean King's coach for 18 years, as well as the personal instructor to former president Jimmy Carter and his family while he was in the White House. In May of 2002, Inside Tennis named the "Brennan Clan," Frank Sr., Jr. and III, to their top-10 list of "Guys Who Have Lent A Hand" to women's tennis.
Brennan resides in Mountain View, Calif., with his daughter, Francesca.

Program
This year coaches Frankie Brennan and Brandon Coupe are offering one week of junior day camp (ages 8-14) with the option of a morning (9:00am-12:00 noon) program, along with a full-day (9:00am-4:00pm) session for all skill levels.
QuickStart / 10 and Under Tennis:
We will be utilizing the new "QuickStart" or "10 and Under" program for those kids ages 8-10 who are just learning the sport. This program provides a positive introduction to tennis fundamentals and low key match play situations for younger campers. Balls are low-compression so they are easier to hit, allowing kids to get to the ball and develop optimal swing patterns. Racquets are sized to smaller hands for better grip and control. Courts are smaller and easier to cover so that kids can focus on developing tactical and technical skills—with more success and less frustration.
Full Day Session: 9am- 4pm - ages 9-14
(Supervised lunch break - campers should bring their lunch.)
Morning Program:
1. Serve, return, and volley
2. Ball machine and feeding drills
3. Doubles play and strategy
Half Day Session: 9am-12pm - ages 8-14

“Our camps are open to any and all entrants. For your safety and benefit, we recommend that you choose a camp that fits your particular skills and level of development.”
Upon arrival, all participants are evaluated by the staff so that their own instructional needs can be addressed throughout the week.

Campers should check in 15 minutes prior to first session.
