Blake Starkey comes to work each day with one goal in mind – making the Mizzou Tiger tennis program better. Not just on the court, which they have been ever since he arrived, but better in the classroom, and better in its involvement in the community. The positive direction of his teams, both on and off the court, shows his knowledge and commitment to the sport, and to the Mizzou program.
Starkey has had three players receive the Big 12 Player of the Week Award. Along with his duties at Mizzou, Starkey has worked hard with the tennis community in Columbia, as well as the state of Missouri. For the past four summers, Starkey has worked with the USTA/Missouri Valley Section by coaching the Missouri Valley Girls' 18 Fed Cup Teams at the prestigious team competition in California. For the past three years, he also has served on the ITA Central Region Committee, as well as the NCAA Midwest Central Committee.
