Great Core Strength is Critical to Physical Performance

Eric Evans Strength Coach Coloardo Tip

For every position on every level, having great core strength is critical to physical performance. Whether you are a pitching, catching, batting or running the bases – a strong core could be the difference between success and coming up short. Your core is the part of your body that is responsible for transferring all of the power you generate with your legs to your upper body. At the plate, if you get fooled by a pitch –it’s your core that allows you to still get a good swing on the ball. Your core is where you transfer energy after fielding a ground ball and are making a throw across the diamond. If you are still not convinced that core training is crucial to your softball performance, consider the fact that with every move you make on the softball diamond, your core is always the first muscle group to fire and get in the game. If you don’t train your core, you’re neglecting training what might be the single most important part of your softball performance.
