Need A New Hitting Drill For Your Team?

Hitting Tip Tee Drill

Hitting Drill: Long T’s

Our team usually needs to get some T work in before we start a hitting circuit. We have found a great way to do this is to do a drill called “Long T’s”. We line all the T’s up on third base line and the players pair up. Each player hits half a bucket of balls from the third baseline out into the field.  All the hitters can hit at the same time and then switch with their partners. After everyone is done our team races to pick up the balls, so they can get more swings in the next round. Our team absolutely loves this drill and you can get a lot of reps in a short amount of time. We usually hit 3 buckets, doing middle, inside and outside and then we begin our hitting circuit. We also make it into a competition dividing the team into two groups and having a point system for a ball hit to the outfield, over the fence and over the scoreboard. The team with the most points wins. It is the perfect fun warm-up that can be done at all age levels!
