Peak Performance Swim Camp Tip: Front Start

Peak Performance Swim Camp Front Start

GET OFF TO A FASTER START! The breakout angle off the start is essential to establishing explosive swim starts and get the ideal swimming speed. A deep dive can significantly reduce momentum, putting swimmers at an enormous disadvantage. To avoid this costly error, swimmers should lift the streamlined hands and arms upwards, towards the surface, immediately upon entering the water. The upward lift reduces the time spent underwater and dramatically increases swimming speed off the start.
