McCracken Volleyball Camp at Manchester University in North Manchester, Indiana is known as a teaching camp, offering instruction for the most advanced high school player to the younger player who is just learning the game. We look forward to the opportunity to help you get better this summer.

Manchester University is located in North Manchester, Indiana, on State Road 13, (45 minutes west of Fort Wayne).

Camp Director

Annie Eggleston

Annie Eggleston is the On-Site Director for all McCracken Volleyball Camps.  She has been with the camp for 20 years and has been a site director for the last seven.  Coach Eggleston has worked with players of all ages and skill levels.  She played four years at Olivet College and was an All-League selection.

Todd German

Coach German has been involved with McCracken Camps for 40 years, first as a camper, then as a counselor, next as the assistant director, and now as the Director. German was a standout high school and college athlete from Bronson, Michigan. He played basketball at Kalamazoo Valley Community College and at Manchester College.  He received his master's degree from Western Michigan University.
 

Staff

Trained counselors will live in dormitories with the campers and, along with the director and assistant director, will supervise all camp activities.

2013 McCracken Camps at Manchester University
June 30-July 3 -- Complete Skills Camp

CAMP INFORMATION
REGISTRATION: Held in Garver Hall at Manchester University. Check-in times are 1:00 to 2:00 pm. Check-out time 4:30 p.m. Needed the day of registration: HEALTH FORM. BALANCE DUE should be paid, but if not, must be collected at registration. Credit cards will not be accepted the day of registration.

CHECK-IN: June 30th at 1:00 to 2:00 pm.

CHECK-OUT: July 3rd 4:30 pm with an awards presentation which begins at 3:30 pm. on the last day of camp. Parents invited to attend awards presentation.

EXTENDED DAY CAMPERS: Day campers will register at the same time as the regular campers and remain for the rest of the first day. Each day thereafter the camper arrives after breakfast and stays until 9:45 pm, with lunch and dinner provided.

HEALTH REPORT: Parents must complete and sign the camp health form; be sure to include the name of your medical insurance company. Please bring this form to camp. DO NOT MAIL. If you have special medicines to take, bring them with written instructions on the reverse side of the health report.

WHAT TO BRING: Volleyball gear – shorts, shirts, socks, volleyball shoes. Casual wear – jeans, shorts, T-shirts, jacket or sweatshirt, pajamas. Miscellaneous articles – towels, sheets pillow, two blankets or sleeping bag, toilet articles, and a fan. PLEASE MARK YOUR CLOTHING FOR IDENTIFICATION. We are not responsible for articles lost or stolen at camp. Please leave all jewelry at home. All meals are provided and water is available, but you are also welcome to bring bottled water, sports drinks and snacks.

ROOM KEYS: Available upon request at check-in time for a $20.00 deposit. This deposit is totally refundable if the key is returned at check-out time. The deposit is forfeited if the key is lost.

CELL PHONES: Campers are allowed to bring a cell phone to camp. The phones must be kept in the dorm room and can only be used there (not in the gym, cafeteria, etc.). Please talk to your child about using them only to communicate important camp information (pick-up time, game schedule, etc.). We would also hope that you, as parents, keep calls to your child to a minimum. Part of the camp experience that can be most beneficial to young people is giving them the chance to get away and to be on their own. Of course, a cell phone is not necessary. There are pay phones available, and the Site Director will get in touch with parents, or make a phone available to any camper, should the need arise.

PICTURES: A group picture of the campers may be ordered at check-in time for a fee of $7.00. The picture will be handed out before the end of the camp session.

CAMP MAIL: If you want to receive mail at camp, it should be addressed as follows: Camper's Name, c/o McCracken Volleyball Camp, Manchester University, North Manchester, Indiana 46962

CAMP BANK: Spending money may be turned in to the camp bank at the first meeting following registration. The bank is open each day so that money may be withdrawn.

MEDICAL CARE: Complete first aid facilities are available. A hospital with 24-hour emergency service is located nearby.

FACILITIES: Campers will be housed in dormitories (two to a room). All meals will be served in the school cafeteria. Volleyball instruction and play will take place in the Physical Education and Recreation Center on campus.
