Eastern Oregon University is located in the quiet town of La Grande, Oregon. Surrounded by a peaceful residential area, the University hosts a beautiful gym, cafeteria, and nice older residential dorms. Each room accommodates two campers, with nearby private shower facilities. Rooms for more than two are also available. These rooms are not air-conditioned and we suggest you bring a fan. You do not need to request a roommate before camp begins. When you sign up for a room, have your preferred roommate with you. If you have no preference, we will match you with someone of the same gender and similar age. NBC Camps evening programs are held in the University's multimillion dollar theatre. Both the local junior high and high school gyms are within minutes of the campus providing plenty of great gym space for games and training. The University food service provides nutritional entrees with all-you-can-eat breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets.

Camp Director

Doris Norris

Doris Norris is the director of the very well known Sideout Volleyball club. She has been a director for four years and was recently inducted into Whiworth University Heritage Gallery Hall of Fame. During her career she was First Team-All-Conference and Three-time Regional All-Star.

Staff

We select outstanding people we believe are of high integrity and character, work ethic and willingness to pour their lives into helping athletes be their best. We work hard to hire College players, College and high school coaches and dynamic competent teachers of the game.

The NBC Difference
Unlike other camp programs where skills training falls under the expertise of the camp director, NBC Camps has built a program of training to help each camper walk out of camp a better player and person.  Our site directors work as event managers helping to run a great week of camp.   Our volleyball instruction is based on skill curriculum and talent development we believe are essential to take your game to the next level.   Though coaching styles and drills may change, our master teachers receive lesson plans and detailed training on how to maximize this week of camp.  Coaching at camp is much different than coaching a team.  With over 40 years experience, our goal is to give you the best volleyball and life skills instruction possible.

TEC Method
The ability to know, understand and apply is the heart of NBC’s Teach, Encourage, Correct method.  True teaching takes place when the student knows how to reproduce the skill and self-correct the skill when it is wrong.

These camps are led by volleyball director Doris Norris. Please email Doris at dorris94@q.com to ask questions or to inquire about hiring.

Well worth the cost!

Even with the tough economic times, we believe that the NBC Volleyball camp is well worth the money. The amount of time on the court, learning and practicing skills is amazing. The fact that the program also offers life lessons is really like two camps for the price of one. We appreciate the lessons that go along with each theme and what our daughters have learned about life along with new and or improved volleyball skills. Keep up the good work!
