Coach Kennedy and her enthusiastic staff create an outstanding environment for campers of all ability levels to improve their skills and have fun.

Campers master the fundamentals, develop proper mechanics and gain valuable game play experience. Every aspect of the game is covered, giving you a solid skill foundation to build upon after camp. Players undergo a skill evaluation during the first camp session and are placed in groups according to ability level.

Alex Kennedy

Former NCAA Division I student-athlete Alex Kennedy was named the new head volleyball coach at Albright College at the beginning of the 2013 season.

Albright went 12-15 in her first season, including a 3-6 mark in Commonwealth Conference play.

Kennedy was the head JV girls volleyball coach at local Wyomissing High School last year, leading the squad to an undefeated season. She has also coached at Infinity Volleyball Club and at several local high school camps.

A 2012 graduate of La Salle University in Philadelphia, Kennedy was a four-year member of the Explorers' varsity program. She missed her sophomore year due to injury, but returned to start 20 matches as a senior.

That season, Kennedy totaled 86 kills, 27 blocks and a hitting percentage of .178.

A National Honor Society member in high school, Kennedy participated in numerous service projects at La Salle including Big Brother/Big Sister, Susan G. Komen Foundation fundraising, and peer mediation services.

She graduated with a degree in psychology and Dean List's honors, after attending Wyomissing High School.

Camp Details

This All Skills program is designed to benefit players at any stage of their game. Daily instruction consists of position specific training, fun games, and full scrimmages. Skill level groups ensure that beginners are given a solid foundation in the basics while advanced players perfect their techniques. 

A detailed camper registration packet containing check in location, health/release forms, emergency contact info, and a list of things to bring will be emailed to all registered campers in the Spring. Our health and release forms do not require a doctor's signature and they will be collected on the first day of camp.

What's included in the fee?

Overnight campers: Dormitory housing on campus and all meals are provided.

Extended Day campers (9am-9pm - except on first and last day): Lunch and dinner are provided.

24-hour supervision is an important feature of every NIKE Volleyball Camp. Staff members reside in campers’ quarters and participate in all activities.

All Skills June 21-25, 2015

  • Check in between 1:00-2:00pm at Crowell Hall on Sunday June 21st
  • Check out:Graduation is at 11:30am on Thursday June 25th at the Bollman Center. 
  • Parents are invited to attend the last session, which takes place between 9:00-11:30am
  • Extended Day Camper Schedule: Sunday 2:00-9:00pm, Monday-Wednesday 9:00am-9:00pm, Thursday 9:00-11:45am

INSTRUCTION

Ratio: 1:10
Players Grouped by: skill, age, years of experience
Evaluation: Written by coaching staff
Equipment Needed: Volleyball shoes, knee pads and a water bottle

HOUSING

Dorm: Crowell Hall
Campers Per Room: 2
Roommates: guaranteed if requested 14 days prior to camp
Bathrooms: On each Floor
Linens: Not provided. Please bring own linens or sleeping bag, pillow, pillowcase and a towel
Air Conditioning: Yes
Key Deposit: no deposit, but $50 fee if key is lost
Spending Money: $40
Medical Facility: athletic trainer on-site and a hospital nearby
Extra Activities: swimming

TRAVEL

Transportation is not provided. The closest airport is the Philadelphia International Airport. 

Team Discount

If eight or more campers register together, as a group by mail or fax, each camper will receive a $30 discount. Click “Get Brochure” above and print the application. All applications must be received at the same time via mail or fax. If all members of your group pay with a Visa or MasterCard, feel free to fax your applications to 415-479-6061 to expedite processing. Late or individual registrations are not eligible to receive the group discount. Discount does not apply to team only camps.

Facilities

The Albright Lions practice and play in one of the finest small-college venues in the nation, the George C. Bollman Center. The Schumo Center for Fitness and Well-Being was built onto the Bollman Center in the summer of 2007, further enhancing the athletic facilities. In the summer of 2011, a state-of-the-art air conditioning/heating system was installed in the Bollman Center.

Camp is held in the Bollman Center and the LifeSports Center.
