Join us for an outstanding Nike Volleyball and ELS Language Camp experience. Come improve your language and volleyball skill set, and tour local Universities all in one unique experience!

International campers aged 14-18 can now add the ELS University language camp prior to their Nike Volleyball program at Rutgers University.  This all inclusive Nike Volleyball and ELS language camp combines high intensity volleyball instruction, with formal English language training and tours to prestigious schools like Princeton and St Joseph University while they are in the US.

This combined language and sport program will be held at two locations. The ELS University Prep Camp, held at the Lawrenceville School program begins on June 29 and runs through July 13.  This is followed by the Nike Volleyball Camp at Rutgers University which begins on July 13 and ends on July 18.  Both ELS and Nike camp staff, will oversee camper transition between the language and sport programs.  

Students attending the University Preparation Camp at The Lawrenceville School will have 15 lessons (each lesson is 50-minutes) per week in the mornings of formal English language training with an additional five 50-minute expansion activities following the morning lessons. Rutgers University will play host to the sport program, which is located ten miles from The Lawrenceville School. This advanced summer Volleyball  camp combines technical instruction and drilling from a top notch coaching staff, supervised match/course play, and a variety of evening social  activities.

Jeff Werneke enters his fifth season as the Rutgers University head coach. He was an assistant at Rutgers from 1999-2001 before becoming the head coach at Fairfield University. While at Fairfield, Werneke led the Stags to a combined 111-85 record from 2002-2007, and was named the 2006 and 2007 Anaconda Sports Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Coach of the Year. ELS University Language Camp: June 29- July 13 (The Lawrenceville  School)

Nike Advanced and Position Speciality Volleyball Camp: July 13- July 18 (Rutgers University)

Students will have 15 lessons (each lesson is 50-minutes) per week in the mornings of formal English language training with an additional five 50-minute expansion activities following the morning lessons. This camp program is designed for students ages 14-18 who are interested in a slightly more serious camp-style program at a top boarding school.  The camp PRogram provides a great language instruction, but still offers students the chance to enjoy their summer, meet new friends around the world and experience exciting evening and weekend activities as well as tour local universities and colleges. Weekends are spent taking in the superb cultural opportunities in the area, such as Six Flags Amusement Park, visiting New York City and the Statue of Liberty, Philadelphia and the Liberty Bell as well as river tubing down the Delaware River!

ELS strives to provide a well-rounded academic experience during the University Prep porgram.  Their custom designed expansion activities allow students to be removed from the formality of the classroom and placed in a setting that promotes and allows for use of English in a free and relaxed format.  All expansion activites are led by our qualified and trained instructors.  Students are allowed to select the the topics that they want.  Topics include American film, American Idioms, American Culture, Life on an American University Campus, Student Newspaper, Student Yerabook, Theater and Movement and Photography.  For more information on this program, please visit the ELS program website. 

The NIKE Volleyball camp at Rutgers University provides campers with top quality instruction plus:

Overnight campers: Dormitory housing on campus and all meals are provided.

24-hour supervision is an important feature of every NIKE Volleyball Camp. Staff members reside in campers’ quarters and participate in all activities.

Volleyballs:  Baden Volleyballs may be purchased when you register for camp for an additional $15. Volleyballs must be paid for at the time of registration. Campers do not need to bring a ball to camp and purchasing one is optional.

Check-in: Sunday July 13th from 4-5pm at the College Avenue Gymnasium

Dinner is the first meal provided on the first day.

Check-out: Graduation is at 11:45am on the last day of camp location at the College Avenue Gymnasium. Parents are invited to attend!
Overnight campers check-out after graduation from Quad Dorm 2. Extended day campers leave directly from the gym.

More Important Camp Details

Camp Check for ELS University Program: June 29 (International campers will be picked up at Philadelphia Airport. Campers may arrive any time during the day. Language classes begin on Monday.) 

Camp Check in for Nike Volleyball Camp: July 13 (4-5PM).  Campers will be taken back to the airport after camp graduation on July 18, leaving at approximately 12:30pm. Please plan airport flights around this schedule. 

A detailed registration package complete with health forms will be sent to all registered campers by mid-April, 2014. 


The Lawrenceville School is a prestigious, private boarding school about four-miles south of Princeton University and about an hour outside of New York City.  It was ranked 14th by Forbes in 2010 as one of American's best Prep Schools.   Lawrenceville is the summer home to the ELS University Prep program as well as many other Nike sport camps including Nike Tennis, Golf and the Vogelsinger Soccer Academy which take advantage of the beautiful campus and expansive facilities.

Rutgers, a State University, founded in 1877 as Queens College,  has campuses in New Brunswick, Newark, and Camden, as well as additional locations across the state of New Jersey and around the world.  The Nike Volleyball camp will be held at the New Brunswick campus, the largest of all the Rutgera sites.  New Brunswick is a vibrant city with a thriving arts community and a happening downtown.
