The University of California at Santa Cruz is located just 35 miles from San Jose, on a beautiful coastal campus overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Surrounded by gorgeous views and towering redwoods, campers will be inspired to improve their game.
The All Skills program is open to girls of any ability level. You'll master the fundamentals, develop proper mechanics and gain valuable game play experience.
The Advanced program is recommended for high school varsity (entering sophomore, junior or senior year) and club players with a commitment to the sport and the ability and motivation to play at the college level. This intense and challenging program stresses position play, advanced team techniques and physical conditioning.

Coach Hollenbeck returns for his fourth year as head coach of the UC Santa Cruz Men’s Volleyball teams.
In 2012 Coach Hollenbeck led the Men’s Volleyball team to a Continental Volleyball Conference Championship and a 3rd place finish at the NCAA NIII National Tournament.
Coach Hollenbeck took over the both Slug teams after two successful seasons as assistant with the Men’s program and one successful season with the Women’s program.

Todd has coached at Peninsula High School for over five years as a coach, camp counselor and volunteer assistant while pursuing a career in marketing.
Originally from Rancho Palos Verdes located in southern California, Todd attended the University of the Pacific in Stockton CA. In 2007 Hollenbeck graduated from Pacific with a degree in Marketing.
Hollenbeck played division I volleyball for the Tigers as an outside hitter and middle blocker. In his senior year, he received the "Most Inspirational Player" award.

A Graduate of California State University, Sacramento (’98), Holding a degree in Physical Education with an emphasis in Exercise Science. In Coach Combs’ first season the Banana Slugs posted the programs first 20 win season since 1994. The 2013 Banana Slugs posted victories over several top ranked NCAA DIII programs and big wins over several NCAA DII and NAIA programs finishing the regular season 20-6 an a independent DIII program. Miraculously qualifying for the NCAA DIII National Championship Tournament for the first time in program history.
Prior to becoming a Banana Slug Coach Combs was the Head Men’s & Women’s Volleyball Coach at Holy Names University in Oakland, CA. (2008-2013). Coach Combs began is collegiate coaching career at Los Medanos College in Pittsburg, CA. An Alumni of the LMC Men’s Volleyball Program, Coach Combs acted as assistant coach for the Men’s and Women’s Programs from 2000-2004. In 2004, he took over as the Head coach for both the men’s and women’s programs at LMC. During Dwight’s tenure at LMC the Mustangs won three Conference titles (2-Men, 1-women). Concurrent to his duties at LMC, Coach Combs acted as Club Director (2004-2008) and Head Coach (2000-2008) for East Bay Juniors Volleyball Club, qualifying several teams for Junior Nationals.Read Full Bio
In 2008, He accepted the position of Head Men’s and Women’s Coach at Holy Names University in Oakland, CA. While at HNU Coach Combs’ Led the Women’s program to Consecutive Undefeated Cal-Pac Conference championships (2010 & 2011) and rebuilt the struggling Men’s Program, posting winning records in 2010 and 2011. The Lady Hawks posted a 52-15 conference record during coach Combs’ five year tenure at HNU. Dwight was honored as Cal-Pac Coach of the year in both 2010 and 2011 and Holy Names University Alpha-Delta Coach of the year in 2012. Over his five seasons heading the women’s program at HNU the Hawks had 16 all-conference players, including 2 conference player of the year awards, 2 libero of the year awards, a newcomer of the year award, and a freshman of the year award.
In 2012 Holy Names made the transition from NAIA to NCAA DII and the Pacific West Conference. In the Hawks first season in the Pacific West Conference the Hawks posted an 8-8 conference record, finishing in the top half of a very tough DII conference. In 2012, both the Men’s and Women’s programs posted the best records and winning percentage of all athletic programs at Holy Names and the Women’s Program was honored as the University’s Team of the year.
In 2013, Coach Combs made the move to UC Santa Cruz. Coach Combs prides himself as a servant/mentor leader, “I see coaching volleyball as an opportunity to give the student-athletes an experience that compliments the education they receive in the class room. Character development matters to me and is the basis of any success I have had as a coach. I strive to be significant in the development of servant leaders and mentors. Encouraging an environment that is based on work ethic, integrity, team work, and responsibility.”
Semper Ad Meloria is Coach Combs’ personal motto that translated means “always improving”. He states “My prime directive as a coach is to focus on improvement of the entire program and the whole student athlete. Fostering Team Work, Respect, Unity, Sincerity, and Tolerance or TRUST.”
Coach Combs played Volleyball at Antioch High School, Los Medanos College, and CSU, Sacramento. He is an avid Grass and Beach Player. Most recently coached club volleyball for Nor-Cal Volleyball club. He resides in Walnut Creek, CA.
2014 CAMP INFORMATION
The NIKE Volleyball camp at UC Santa Cruz provides campers with top quality instruction plus:
Overnight campers: Dormitory housing on campus and all meals are provided.
Extended Day campers (9am-9pm - except on ﬁrst and last day): Lunch and dinner are provided.
24-hour supervision is an important feature of every NIKE Volleyball Camp. Staff members reside in campers’ quarters and participate in all activities.
Volleyballs: Molten Volleyballs may be purchased when you register for camp for an additional $15. Volleyballs must be paid for at the time of registration. Campers do not need to bring a ball to camp and purchasing one is optional.
