STAND UP PADDLE BOARD (SUP) YOGA
Practice yoga on the water! The GWC overlooks the stunning Mianus River in Cos Cob, offering the perfect opportunity for SUP yoga. SUP yoga is not only a fun outdoor challenge, but also helps improve balance and mindfulness. Each camp week will incorporate SUP yoga sessions, with each SUP session equaling 1hr in the water. Session I and II campers will practice SUP yoga 1 day of the camp week for 1hr. total. Session III campers will practice SUP yoga every day of camp for 1 hr. each day/4 hrs. total.
Camp Director Carla Zilka is lifeguard certified and currently teaches SUP yoga classes seasonally at the GWC. Carla, along with another lifeguard certified staff member, will lead all SUP yoga sessions. There will be no more than 10 campers in the water at a time. All campers are required to have prior swim experience and wear a life vest. Life vests, stand up paddle boards and paddles will be provided by the GWC. While strongly encouraged, SUP yoga is not a mandatory camp activity*. Camp Director Jason Papalio will direct an on-land yoga practice for those that choose not to participate in SUP yoga. *Please note that there are no discounts or refunds if you choose not to participate in the SUP Yoga session(s).
Upon arrival, all participants are evaluated by the staff so that their own instructional needs can be addressed throughout the week. Camp director/staff will modify all poses to suit each individual. Parents are invited to attend the closing ceremony! Departure immediately following the closing ceremony.
DRESS CODE AND EQUIPMENT
Campers should come dressed in comfortable, athletic clothing. Campers are asked to bring a yoga mat, water bottle, bathing suit/extra set of athletic clothing, sunscreen, snacks, and a composition notebook with a pen/pencil for daily yoga journaling.
Transportation is not provided to/from camp.
A detailed camper registration packet containing check in location, health/release forms, emergency contact numbers, and a checklist of things to bring will be emailed to all registered campers in the Spring. The US Sports Camps health and release forms do not require a doctor's signature and they will be collected on the first day of camp. The State of Connecticut requires a copy of camp participants’ most recent physical and record of immunizations, shots, etc., in addition to the US Sports Camps health and release form and SUP yoga waiver .

The GWC's private yoga rooms overlook the beautiful banks of the Mianus River in Cos Cob, Connecticut. Greenwich Water Club offers highly acclaimed programs, including yoga classes regularly taught by camp directors Carla Zilka and Jason Papalio, in their state-of-the-art facility.
