ASA Hoops leads a high-intensity complete skills camp at the nation's oldest school, located in central Boston. Campers will work on improving their personal and team play skills through challenging individual exercises, dribble series and full court games.
A Step Ahead (ASA) Nike Basketball Camps are designed for the player looking to improve their game and basketball IQ. Emphasis is placed on fundamental development, shooting, offense/defense, team play, and more.

Camp Director Greg Maneikis
Greg Maneikis is a Varsity Basketball Coach in Austin, TX where he has been teaching English for the past five years. He played three years of varsity basketball at Boston Latin School, twice being named a first-team league all-star. Greg specializes in skill development for high school players, with an emphasis on ball-handling ability.View Greg Maneikis's Bio ⟩
As a senior captain, Greg led his team a share of the Dual County League title and the third round of the MIAA tournament, which remains the most successful run a Boston Lating basketball team has ever had in the history of the program.

Now in its 21st year, A Step Ahead Inc. (ASA Hoops) has become a year-round operation offering clinics, classes, camps and AAU. In 2017, over 2,500 participants have entered our programs. This up-coming year will be ASA's biggest yet, with over 40 camps scheduled and the expansion of their AAU program. ASA Hoops will be one of the biggest basketball operations in New England. Participants, boys and girls, range in age from 7-18 and have come from communities throughout New England and across the globe.

Upon arrival, all participants are evaluated by the staff so that their own instructional needs can be addressed throughout the week. In addition, campers will be evaluated and then split up into smaller groups according to age and ability. Parents are invited to attend the closing ceremony! Departure immediately following.
Transportation is not provided by the camp to or from any airports. If you are flying to or from camp, we recommend using an airport shuttle service. Please schedule flights as close as you can to the check-in times on the first day and check-out times on the last day.
A detailed camper registration packet containing check in location, health/release forms, emergency contact numbers, and a checklist of things to bring will be emailed to all registered campers in the Spring. The US Sports Camps health and release forms do not require a doctor's signature and they will be collected on the first day of camp. The State of Massachusetts requires a copy of camp participants’ most recent physical and record of immunizations, shots, etc., in addition to the US Sports Camps health and release form.
We cannot offer scholarships due to NCAA regulations. Our affiliation with NCAA coaches and schools puts us in a position where any scholarship money can be seen as an inducement to a future collegiate athlete. This puts our coaches and our host universities in jeopardy of damaging their status with the NCAA and incurring penalties at the hands of their organizing body.

Boston Latin High School is centrally located and accessible by car and public transportation. This facility is ideal for any camp setting, with 14 baskets and two gyms Latin School can host up to 100 campers.
