Kayla Shaw spent two seasons with Azusa Pacific (2020-22), and she helped lead the Cougars to back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances, including a West region title and trip to the Elite Eight in 2020-21, and a PacWest regular season championship and a PacWest Tournament championship this past year in 2021-22.
Shaw was named the PacWest Newcomer of the Year in 2020-21, after she led the conference in three-point field goals made (47) and three-point shooting (.398/47-for-118), and she was named the Tournament MVP of the West Regional. In 2021-22, Shaw was named to the All-PacWest First Team, and she was selected to the D2CCA All-West Region First Team, after she finished third in the nation for three-pointers made (96) and eighth in three-point percentage (44%). Shaw is set to start her third season in professional basketball, as she spent her rookie season in England (Nottingham) before moving to Finland for this past season, where she played with Pyrinto. Shaw has resigned with Pyrinto for the upcoming season this fall.
