Lauren Griffen
Lauren grew up in Ventura, CA playing indoor and beach volleyball. She played competitive travel club volleyball for 12 years, finishing alongside her 4-year high school career. Her senior year of high school, Lauren and her team made their way through the state playoffs, finally playing in the State of California CIF-SS Division 1A Semi-finals and ended up losing to Mira Costa. Lauren earned an athletic scholarship and played collegiately at Concordia University, Portland Oregon.
Throughout her high school and college career, Lauren achieved several accolades including Cascade Conference Honorable Mention (2005-2007), Cascade Conference Player of the Week(s), First Team Channel League (2003 & 2004), Second Team Channel League (2002), Channel League Setter of the Year (2004), Channel League Co-MVP (2004), California CIF-SS Second Team (2004), as well as several team awards titled as “Golden Hands”, “Ace Award”, “MVP” & Captain for 4 years. After her playing career, Lauren coached and directed for over a decade at Rincon Volleyball Club. She also coached several high school teams at Buena High School, St. Bonaventure High School and Villanova Preparatory Academy. Additionally, Lauren opened the first youth beach volleyball club in Ventura, CA in 2020 – Cove Juniors Beach Volleyball Club. This is Lauren’s second year with NBC volleyball camps, and she looks forward to coaching this summer! Lauren, her husband and two children live in Ennis, MT. Lauren works at Montana State University as the Health Information Manager and also teaches beginning & advanced volleyball courses.
