Porter Troupe
Camp Director
Porter Troupe is the Director of Basketball at the Multnomah Athletic Club, one of the most prestigious athletic organizations in the Pacific Northwest. In this role, he oversees all aspects of MAC’s basketball programming — including youth development, competitive teams, clinics, and camps — with a focus on building culture, community, and player growth.
Born in Harlem, New York, Porter moved with his family to San Diego, California, where he enjoyed a standout high school career and earned a nomination for the McDonald’s All-American Team. After high school, he played collegiately at the University of Portland before embarking on an impressive 17-year professional career in Europe, competing in seven countries — Romania, Finland, Poland, Lithuania, Cyprus, Lebanon, and Portugal — before retiring in 2023.
A highlight of his overseas career came during the 2014–2015 season, when he helped Energia Târgu Jiu reach the Final Four of the FIBA EuroChallenge (now known as the Basketball Champions League), finishing third in Europe. Known for his elite shooting, fierce competitiveness, and leadership, Porter served as team captain and acting head coach for CSM Târgu Jiu in his final season.
Beyond his playing career, Porter brings over 15 years of coaching and youth development experience, working with athletes of all ages and levels. His extensive international background and player-first approach continue to shape his philosophy of developing not just better players, but better people through the game of basketball.
