at Nike Football Skills Camps

Its never too early to start training for football season. Join us for the inaugural Nike Football Off-Season Spring Training Camp at the Rusty Barbell in Ypsilanti, MI. We are conveniently located about 20 minutes from downtown Ann Arbor and less than 40 minutes from downtown Detroit and hope to welcome young football athletes from the region to join us for our first Off-Season Spring Training Camp. This camp is an 8-week program, that includes 16 one-hour sessions on Saturdays and Sundays through February and March.

The camp will be split into two different tracks based on age. The JV track is for ages 9-12 and will focus on core strength, speed and agility with an emphasis on body weight workouts as well as an introduction to the bar. The Varsity track is for ages 13-18. This track will focus on the core lifts for football as well as speed and agility. These dynamic workouts, run by Site Director Antaiwn Mack and Head Strength & Conditioning Coach Phil Harrington will use top-tier training equipment and techniques to tailor-make the athlete in a safe, fun and supportive environment.

  • Jonas Jackson

    Camp Director Jonas Jackson

    Jackson, joined the Panthers football coaching staff in July of 2022 where he serves as the Defensive Line Coach. Prior to PVAMU coach Jackson was on the staff at Delaware State.He most recently served as defensive line coach at NCAA Div. III (Albany State (Ga.) in 2019. In 2018 and ’19, Jackson was an assistant at Your Call Football, an interactive competition in which participants call plays in real time for a series of live exhibition American football games with players, some of whom have played in the NFL or CFL. The participants watch the game via live streaming media and use a smartphone app to select the plays.

    Coach Mack is entering his third season as the Head Coach at Ann Arbor Huron High School.

  • Phil Harrington

    Head Strength & Conditioning Coach Phil Harrington

    Phil is the owner and head coach at Rusty Barbell. After four years playing football for Adrian College, Phil went on to work as a defensive backs and assistant strength and conditioning coach at Adrian College, Knox College, and Kalamazoo College. Phil served as the strength and conditioning coach for Huron High School athletics in Ann Arbor, MI from 2017-2019.

Camp Details

Instruction will develop off-season training fundamentals and advanced skills, focusing on core strength, speed and agility, and weight lift training. You can expect high demand for these first come first serve camper spots, so please be sure to register early.

CAMP INFORMATION

  • Age Group: JV Track (9-12) | Varsity Track (13-18)
  • Camp Type: One-Hour Training Session
  • Dates & Schedule: Saturday-Sunday, JV Track: 9:00am-10:00am | Varsity Track: 12:00pm-1:00pm
  • 8 Weeks (16 one-hour sessions):
    Week 1: Feb 1st-2nd
    Week 2: Feb 8th-9th
    Week 3: Feb 15th-16th
    Week 4: Feb 22nd-23rd
    Week 5: March 1st-2nd
    Week 6: March 8th-9th
    Week 7: March 15th-16th
    Week 8: March 22nd-23rd
  • 8-Week Package: Includes 16 one-hour sessions
  • February Package: Includes 8 one-hour sessions in February (Weeks 1-4)
  • March Package: Includes 8 one-hour sessions in March (Weeks 5-8)
  • Check-In: Begins 15 minutes prior to the camp start time.
  • Meals: Lunch will not be provided. Campers must bring their own lunch and snacks.

INSTRUCTION & FACILITY

MEDICAL PROTOCOL

Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

TRAVEL

Nike Football Camps does not provide transportation from airports, train stations or bus depots. If you have a child flying to camp, please arrange a shuttle or taxi service.

TEAM/GROUP DISCOUNT

If you have a team or group of 5 or more campers registering for the same camp, each camper may be eligible for a discount. To receive the group discount, please have someone email US Sports Camps at [email protected] with the following information: Camp name, list of camper names, and the number of campers. We will respond with a unique discount code for everyone in the group to use during online registration. *Note: Discount amounts vary by program, so please reach out for more details.
