Nike Junior Golf Camps
Join us this summer for our junior golf camps in Birmingham, Alabama. Join Samford University Women's Head Coach, Rachel Ingram, and her dedicated staff for a week of golf instruction and fun this summer!
Nike junior golfers are housed in double rooms on campus at Samford and have their meals in the dining halls, giving each camper a glimpse of the college life. Golf instruction takes place at Highland Park Golf Course (rated 4 stars by Golf Digest) which is a perfect environment to improve your game. Each day consists of breakfast, morning range instruction, lunch, afternoon course play, dinner, and evening activities.
The Day Camp option runs from 8:30am - 5:00pm each day. This includes all golf instruction, lunch, and afternoon course play with the staff.

Camp Director Rachel Ingram
Rachel Ingram is the head women’s golf coach at Samford University. On Aug. 26, 2013, she was officially named to the position after spending the previous two seasons as an assistant coach at East Tennessee State University.View Rachel Ingram's Bio ⟩
In 2013, Ingram played a pivotal role in leading East Tennessee State to the Atlantic Sun Conference championship title. For the second time in program history, ETSU captured the conference championship in 2013 thanks to a tournament total of 880, holding off defending champion Kennesaw State on the final day of competition at the Jekyll Island Golf Club’s Pine Lakes Course.
As a graduate of the University of Mississippi in May of 2010, Ingram received four varsity letters as a member of the women's golf team. Ingram's college career low was 71 at the Derby Intercollegiate (Auburn University) in 2008. This personal best in the final round helped the Lady Rebels get their third straight, top-five finish. Her best individual finish was a 228 to place 14th at the Chrysler ACC/ SEC Challenge (Florida State University) in 2005.
An outstanding golfer, Ingram continues to compete at a high level and has earned top-25 finishes in summer amateur tournaments which include the following: Women's Southern Amateur '06; Women's Western Amateur '06; Golf Capital of TN Women's Open '09; and TN State Amateur '10.
Coach Mike Wilson

Mike Wilson serves as head men's golf coach for the UAB Blazers. Previously, Wilson spent nine years at Charleston Southern. He was the head women’s golf coach from 2007-09 before being named the men’s coach in 2009. In 2011, Wilson was appointed the Director of Golf which gave him oversight of both programs while remaining as the head men’s golf coach.
The CSU men’s team is coming off back-to-back NCAA Regional appearances and captured the 2015 Big South title. The Buccaneers’ selection to the Tuscaloosa Regional in 2016 marked the first time in CSU history that a program earned an at-large berth into an NCAA championship event.
Our curriculum is the perfect blend of expert instruction, course play and off-course activities. With dedicated coaches at the helm, each Nike camper can leave at the end of the week feeling more confident about their game. Check-In and Check-Out
Check-in occurs from 1:00-2:30pm on Sunday, July 9th. Check-out from 12:30 - 1:00pm on Thursday, July 13th.
The Overnight fee includes all golf instruction, green fees, evening activities, housing and meals. The Day Camp option includes all golf instruction, lunch, and course play. Day campers will be dropped off and picked up at the golf course each day.
Campers are supervised 24 hours a day. The staff lives in the dormitories with the campers and participates in evening activities. Drugs, alcohol and tobacco are strictly prohibited, and constitute, along with general misconduct, grounds for dismissal from camp without a refund.
Nike Junior Golf Camps does not provide transportation to and from airports, bus depots or train stations. The packet we send to registered campers in the spring offers suggestions on shuttle services for each specific camp.
A detailed camper registration packet containing check in location, health/release forms, emergency contact info, and a list of things to bring will be emailed to all registered campers in the Spring.

- 8:45am Skills demonstrations
- 9:00am - Noon Small group instruction focusing on putting, chipping, pitching and full-swing
- Noon Lunch and relaxation
- 12:45 - 5:00pm Course play with focus on shot selection, course management, rules and etiquette
- 6:00pm Dinner at Samford
- 7:00 - 9:00pm Evening activities
- 10:15pm Lights out
Highland Park Golf Course
Alabama's Highland Park Golf Course was originally established in 1903 as the Country Club of Birmingham, making it the oldest golf course in Alabama. Highland Park has been the site of many important golf events including one of renowned golfer Bobby Jones’s first victories. The Highland Park facilities - golf course, adjoining tennis club, clubhouse facilities, etc. - are all located in the heart of one of Birmingham's favorite neighborhoods. Highland Park was rated 4 stars by Golf Digest, and "Best Greens" and "Best Public Course" in Birmingham by Birmingham Magazine.
Samford University is Alabama’s top-ranked private university with nationally ranked academic programs rooted in the university’s Christian mission. Located in suburban Birmingham, Samford was founded in 1841 and is the 87th oldest institution of higher learning in the United States.
