Join us for a FUN Sports experience at the Nike Multi-Sport Camp at Hartwick College. This is a non-sports-specific camp that includes a variety of fun, interactive and sports-related activities for your young athlete.
CO-directed by Assistant Professor and Assistant Tennis Coach Katie Griffes, PhD, and Hartwick Lacrosse Men's Head Coach Don LaSala, campers will focus on developing a foundation of techniques and skills through exciting drills and games! The goal for our camps is to help boys and girls gain enjoyment in physical activity and sports, make new friends, and have some serious fun! We challenge our campers to grow in imagination, creativity, and teamwork.
This camp offers local families and those traveling in and attending the baseball tournaments a fun and flexible camp experience to fit within your busy schedule. The camp is set to mirror the tournament schedule to maximize convenience for families.
You can choose to attend one day of camp or all three as a Half-Day or Full-Day camper. Parents are welcome to reach out if special accommodations are needed.

Head Men's Lacrosse Coach - Hartwick College Don LaSala
Don LaSala will begin his eighth season as head coach of the Hawks' men's lacrosse program in 2021-22.View Don's Bio ⟩
Under LaSala's leadership, Hartwick returned to the Empire 8 Conference playoffs for the third consecutive time in 2019. The Hawks won 10 games for the first time since 2011, won a program record six conference games, and tied a College record for consecutive victories (8). LaSala led senior Garrison Wojtas to USILA Honorable Mention All-America honors, the Hawks' first All-American since 2005.
In 2018, LaSala's Hawks made their second straight appearance in the Empire 8 semifinals. It marked the first back-to-back conference playoff appearances since 2004-2005. Long-stick midfielder Eric Schweitzer was also an all-region and Empire 8 selection for the second straight year.
In his third season, LaSala piloted the Hawks to their first winning season (8-7) since 2011 and first Empire 8 playoff appearance since 2005. The Hawks also tied a program record for conference wins (5). LaSala would help Schweitzer to all-region and Empire 8 First Team honors.
Prior to Hartwick, served as the head men’s lacrosse coach at Adrian College in Adrian, MI for three seasons. He led the Bulldogs to three straight conference titles and three consecutive NCAA Division III Tournament appearances.
LaSala led Adrian to an overall record of 44-9 in his three seasons at the helm. In addition, the Bulldogs had an unblemished conference record under his tutelage. He guided them to a 9-0 mark in the Midwest Lacrosse Conference in 2012 and 6-0 records in two seasons in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA).
Adrian won a school record 17 games in 2012 during LaSala’s first year as head coach. He then piloted the Bulldogs to their first NCAA Tournament victory in program history with a 14-11 win over Otterbein.
LaSala began his coaching career with one-year stints as an assistant at his alma mater of Brockport (2005-06) and Washington and Jefferson College (2006-07). He then spent four seasons as an assistant at Clarkson University from 2007-2011. While with the Golden Knights, he served as the team’s recruiting coordinator and was the defensive coordinator from 2007-2010. LaSala was Clarkson’s offensive coordinator in 2011 before taking the reins at Adrian.
A 2005 graduate of The College at Brockport, LaSala received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He also obtained a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from St. Lawrence University in May 2011.
Assistant Coach - Hartwick College Women's Tennis Katie Griffes, PhD
Katie Griffes joined the Hartwick Women's Tennis program part-time as an assistant coach for mental skills training in the spring of 2020.View Katie's Bio ⟩
Coach Griffes' role on the team is to support and develop mental skills to positively impact sport performance and overall sport experience, including confidence building, positive self-talk, communication, motivation, and team cohesion. Griffes played an integral part in the program's success in 2021 where they had their best season to date, making it to the first ever Empire 8 finals appearance.
Katie has extensive experience with tennis as both a player and a coach. She was a member of the Olivet College tennis team while working on her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. Post graduation, Katie worked for Nike as a summer tennis camp counselor and spent two years as head coach for the Lansing Catholic Central Women's Varsity Tennis Team. She holds a PhD in Kinesiology with a concentration in Sport Psychology from Michigan State University, and currently works as an Assistant Professor of Sport and Exercise Sciences at SUNY Oneonta.

This is a non-sport-specific camp building a foundation of techniques and skills that will help campers play all sports and be able to graduate to one of our sport-specific camps. A focus on developing running, jumping, catching, throwing, kicking, agility, and playing through fun practices and games.

INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT, & FACILITY
Ratio: Low camper-to-coach ratio
Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, ability, and experience
Equipment needed: Sneakers, athletic clothes, water bottle, lunch, snacks, and sunscreen
Facilities: Wright Stadium, Lambros Arena, and Sally Griffiths Herbert Aquatic Center
Check-in/Out: 15 minutes before camp start/end

If you have a group of 4 or more campers registering for the same camp, each camper is eligible for a $25 discount. If you have a group of 8 or more campers registering for the same camp, each camper is eligible for a $30 discount. please fill out the Group Discount form with the name of your group and the names of each camper enrolling in the camp and we will create a unique discount code for your group.
Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.
