US Sports Camps Announces Metros Esports as New Philadelphia Area Camp Location
Esports Camps, a subsidiary of US Sports Camps, the largest provider of sports camps in the world, today announced a new Pennsylvania camp location in Warminster. The G Academy Esports Camp will be hosted at Metro Esports, a premiere gaming center just outside of Philadelphia, and will follow all recommended guidelines for hosting events. The Metro Sports & Entertainment Group is a technology-based education and custom Esports event management agency located in the Greater Philadelphia area. Metro’s unique expertise lies in custom programming, high-tech/hi-profile, multicultural consumer reach, and innovative brand integration strategies.
Shaon Berry, CEO of Metro Sports & Entertainment, is a champion of youth education, engagement, and development. From his time as a coach to building a 6 year nationally televised football platform, all the way to esports. Shaon has helped youth reach their full potential for over a decade.
The five-day camp will have both morning and afternoon sessions and are scheduled to begin on July 12, 2021, and will offer campers the opportunity to develop their gaming skills in a variety of titles such as Rocket League, Minecraft, and content creation & shout casting for Twitch and Youtube. Metro Esports staff members will help each camper learn the fundamentals of their respective games while assisting them in developing their out-of-game skills in communication, teamwork, and leadership with the STEM accredited Logitech G Academy Esports Performance curriculum. Campers will also have the opportunity to learn and play with other campers on what it means to be a well-rounded esports athlete and member of the community.
Berry said, “I come from the traditional sports world, where getting a college scholarship or making it to the pros is the ultimate goal for millions of aspiring young athletes and families. While those are awesome goals, the likelihood of reaching them without being some kind of genetic specimen is almost non-existent for most of the populous. The incredible thing about esports as an industry is that you can be a superstar in so many different categories from pro gamer to programmer, game designer, engineer, streamer, organizer, team owner and so much more. When you combine education and esports, your possibilities are endless.”
“We are excited to be bringing USSC Esports Camps to the greater Philadelphia region, which have been trailblazers in the esports space with organizations like the Overwatch League’s Philadelphia Fusion, Comcast, and now Metros Esports,” said Kye Browning, Director of Esports for US Sports Camps. “Shaon and his team are seasoned in grass-rooted esports efforts & camp programming and we are excited to be working with Metro Esports to bring esports camp experiences to the residents of the greater Philadelphia area in 2021 and beyond.”

About US Sports Camps
US Sports Camps (USSC), headquartered in San Rafael, California, is America's largest sports camp network. The company has offered summer camps since 1975 with the same mission that defines it today: to shape a lifelong enjoyment of athletics through high-quality sports education and skill enhancement.
The Metro Esports & Technology Center, located just outside of Philadelphia, offers a wide variety of tech education classes. Their curriculum lets students complete a university-level course in as little as 4 months. Metro’s goal is to bridge the gap in tech education by offering a wide array of tech, coding, and game design courses, offered both online and in-person (COVID safe), to students 13+. Not only do students receive an industry-recognized certificate upon completion, but they are also introduced to our partner companies thanks to recruiting relationships with Microsoft, Logitech, SAP, and Comcast.
