US Sports Camps Launches Nike Multi-Sports Camp at Hartwick College

US Sports Camps, the official provider of Nike Sports Camp, is pleased to announce its new Nike Multi-Sports Camp at Hartwick College. Nike Multi-Sports Camp is the perfect complement for families attending the renowned Cooperstown tournament and looking for skill-building and fun engagement for 6-12 years old. The co-ed camp offers both half- and full-day sessions, develops foundational sports abilities, and is packed with fun drills and thrilling games.
“At Cooperstown All Star Village, we prioritize the experience for the entire family—not just players,” said Rick Abbott, CEO of Cooperstown All-Star Village. “Nike Sports Camps and Hartwick College allow siblings to enjoy their own unique experiences, make new friends, and go home with fun, summertime memories to last a lifetime.”
Co-led by Don LaSala, Hartwick’s head men’s lacrosse coach, and Katie Griffes PhD, Assistant Professor in Sport and Exercise Sciences at SUNY Oneonta, Nike Multi-Sports Camp runs in parallel to the Cooperstown tournament throughout June. With a low camper-to-coach ratio, the program helps develop the core components for advanced sports play: running, jumping, catching, throwing, kicking, and agility.
“Training for speed, dexterity, and aerobic endurance is key to building a solid ground in sports,” said Coach LaSala. “And I look forward to strengthening these skills in campers and growing their passion for athletic and competitive activities.”
LaSala brings a long and successful record as a lacrosse coach. He began as an assistant for several colleges, then coached at Adrian College for three seasons. After joining Hartwick College in 2014, he helped the Hawks claim ten victories since 2011, a program record for six conference games, and three consecutive Empire 8 Conference playoffs.
Dr. Katie Griffes commented, “I’m deeply passionate about strengthening communication and building confidence on the field. It motivates boys and girls to be their best selves, and also encourages team unity across all sports.”
As a former tennis player and head coach, Dr. Griffes led the Hartwick Women’s tennis program to its first ever Empire 8 finals appearance. She mixes her athletic background with her PhD in Kinesiology to facilitate mental skills training, inspirational self-talk, and cohesive team bonding. Drawing from her past experience as a summer tennis camp counselor, she believes in fostering a positive and motivational sport performance.
At the Nike Multi-Sports Camp, boys and girls will gain a deeper appreciation for multiple sports and will be primed for subsequent sport-specific camps within the Nike Sports Camp portfolio.
Registration for the Nike Multi-Sport Camp at Hartwick College is now open, but families can also register on the day of the camp. Prospective campers and parents are encouraged to visit the website for more information. https://www.ussportscamps.com/kids/nike/nike-kids-sports-camp-hartwick-college
