Nike Soccer Camps to Team Up with Fort Hays State University
Nike Soccer Camps’ newest director, Brett Parker, Head Coach of the Fort Hays State University, has steered his team to a Central Regional Championship. Coach Parker is in his eighth year at the helm of the Tigers and is the first coach in program history. He has led FHSU soccer to seven consecutive NCAA Tournaments. He has built a nationally competitive program in his short time in Hays, KS.
On Thursday, November 15th, the number 11 ranked Tigers defeated the number 19 ranked Northeastern State Riverhawks, 3-1, scoring all three of their goals in the final 10 minutes. After falling behind 1-0 in the 56th minute, the RiverHawks and Tigers battled until the 81st minute when Alonso Rodriguez pulled FHSU even. FHSU pulled ahead one minute and a half later and secured the win with another goal in the 87th minute.
The Tigers have enjoyed a 16-2-1 record and will now face off with the Fighting Scots of Ohio Valley in the National Quarterfinal inside FHSU Soccer Stadium. The match is slated to commence at 1 pm on Saturday, November 17th.
“Congratulations to Coach Parker and his tigers on their success so far this season. We are proud to have Fort Hays State as part of the Nike Soccer Camp family and look forward to rooting them on throughout the rest of the NCAA tournament” says Renee Chapman Vice President of Nike Soccer Camps.
