Founder - 1v1 Formula & Tournaments Steve Guppy
Steve Guppy, a former England international winger, brings a wealth of experience from both his distinguished playing career and his success as a coach at the highest levels of the game. With over 500 professional appearances, he made his mark in the Premier League with Leicester City and Newcastle United, starred for Scottish giants Celtic FC, and played in Major League Soccer with D.C. United. Recognizing the importance of mastering 1v1 situations—a skill that defined his own playing career—Guppy founded the 1v1 Formula, a unique youth development program designed to build confidence and creativity in players through specialized training and competitive 1v1 tournaments.

STEVE GUPPY’S 1V1 FORMULA & TOURNAMENTS
Throughout his playing and coaching career from the English Premier League to Major League Soccer, Steve Guppy built a career by developing his own techniques to perfect 1v1s. Steve launched the first iteration of the propriety 1v1 method in 2006 as a coach, and has taken those techniques and coupled them with modern technology, evolving his method of training and competition - The 1v1 Formula and The 1v1 Tournament.

The most exciting plays in soccer happen in 1v1 battles—and winning them takes skill, strategy, and confidence. Developed by Premier League and MLS coach Steve Guppy, the 1v1 Formula & Tournament is a high-intensity training and competition experience designed to sharpen attacking and defensive abilities through fast-paced, game-realistic 1v1 scenarios.

Throughout the week, players will learn and refine their 1v1 skills, focusing on explosive acceleration, creative attacking moves, and defensive resilience. Each session features specialized 1v1 stations, where players rotate through game-realistic matchups designed to replicate the pressure and excitement of live play. Players are grouped by age and ability, ensuring they are challenged at the right level. The camp culminates in the ultimate test—the 1v1 Formula Tournament, where players put their newly developed skills to the test in a fast-paced, high-energy competition.
Scoring & Competition
A unique scoring system tracks performance, rewarding both attackers and defenders. A live leaderboard fuels competition, with prizes for top performers. The best players advance to regional and national tournaments, offering a true pathway for player identification.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FEE?
- Instruction: Training from Steve Guppy and his 1v1 Formula Staff
- Meals: Lunch is NOT provided
- Supervision: Staff members are strategically placed throughout to provide optimal supervision
- Camp T-shirt: All campers receive a Nike Soccer Camps T-shirt
INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT, & FACILITY
- Ratio: Low camper-to-coach ratio
- Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, ability, and experience
- Equipment Needed: All campers must bring soccer cleats, shin guards, athletic shoes, and a water bottle.
- Medical Protocol: Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital

Below is a suggested list of clothes, equipment, and personal items. US Sports Camps is NOT responsible for lost or stolen articles or money.
- Athletic clothing
- Soccer Cleats (no metal studs)
- Shin guards

SOCCER BALLS
Nike Soccer Camp Balls can be purchased during registration. Players can choose between a size 3, 4 or 5 ball, which will be shipped out once the order has processed.

- Groups of 4 or more: Each camper gets a $30 discount.
- Groups of 8 or more: Each camper enjoys a $35 discount.

TRANSPORTATION
Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.
MEDICAL PROTOCOL
Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.
