The 2019 World Wide Soccer Camp brings their challenging and fun soccer training program to McAllister Park in San Antonio, TX! We are offering Half Day and Advanced programs for campers ages 6-13.

Camp Coaches

  • World Wide Soccer Manager Laurence O'Toole

    Laurence is the Manager of World Wide Soccer and has been working and running camps, clinics, school sessions, tournaments and soccer sessions for the last 11 years. He has licenses from USSF (D licence) United Soccer Coaches (formerly NSCAA) and the English FA. He works with youth soccer clubs and teams in the US, as well as previously working for Arsenal FC. He has a degree in Sports Science and Health.

  • University of Incarnate Word Head Men's Soccer Coach Chris Fidler

    Chris Fidler was named interim head coach prior to the 2018 season after five years an assistant coach with the UIW men's soccer team. The Bramhall, Cheshire, England native played two years for Incarnate Word. He was the 2011 Daktronics South Central Region Player of the Year, Lone Star Conference Academic Player of the Year as well as earning an All-American Honorable Mention along with 4 other awards in his Senior Year. He recorded 16 shutouts in his career and holds a UIW record with a 0.62 GAA from the 2011 season. Fidler graduated from UIW with a Master’s Degree in Sports Management and grew up playing in the Manchester City Academy. Fidler has completed Coaching Licenses with the FA in England and has completed a number of Coaching Licenses whilst in the US with the NCSAA.

  • Girls Coach Kaitie Kasperitis

    Kaitie works directly with mainly the female soccer players and she has her USFF D License, as well as several certificates with the USC (formerly NSCAA). Kaitie is originally from Corpus Christi, Texas. She moved to San Antonio to attend college at St. Mary's University and was a 4-year starter for the Varsity Women's soccer team. She received her undergraduate degree in Exercise and Sports Science. She is the all time leading goal scorer for the university.

  • Goalkeeper Director Rob Buchanan

    Coach Rob has been playing and coaching soccer for over 35 years at both the amateur and professional levels. He attended University of Texas-San Antonio (D1 NCAA program) on a full athletic scholarship and was the starting keeper as a freshman. After college he played professional soccer with the San Antonio Pumas. He then moved to the Reno Rattlers, playing in A League with USL and played for 7 years. During his career as a goalkeeper he was recognized in a variety of ways: All-district, All-City, All-Region, State ODP Keeper, USISL player of the Week, USISL Team of the Week, and more. He now wants to pass along his knowledge to the next generation. He has coached and worked with many organizations, camps, clubs and individuals to provide the absolute best goalkeeper training and to continually re-evaluate new techniques. He looks forward to working with the Nike Soccer Campers.

  • Goalkeeper Director Brendan Johnson

    Brendan is licensed with both the USSF and USC organizations as a coach and goalkeeper coach. He is a youth soccer coach with Sting and also at college level with Our Lady of the Lake University. He is currently also a goalkeeper for the US Paralympics National Team.

  • World Wide Coach Miguel Vidal

    M.S. in Applied Exercise Science, NASM certified Performance Enhancement Specialist, USSF D licensed coach (currently), with 4 years coaching experience.

Camp Details

At World Wide Soccer campers enjoy a curriculum which involves technical training and small-sided games with coached scrimmages. Campers work through different topics including overloads (1v1, 2v1, 3v2 etc), defending & attacking as well as shooting and finishing. All sessions are designed to improve decision making ability and speed of play. Players also compete in the daily "World Cup Tournament"! This is our week-long tournament with finals on Friday.

Our Mission
World Wide Soccer Camps mission is to provide young players the opportunity to receive professional, high-level soccer training from a team of qualified soccer coaches. World Wide Soccer believes in promoting positive sport and exercise experiences for young athletes, instilling in them a belief in healthy eating and active lifestyles.

Each camp is challenging, educational and enjoyable. We answer the two questions every parent asks, "Did you have fun?" and "Did you learn?" with a big YES!

PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS

Half Day:
Campers enjoy a curriculum which involves technical training and small-sided games with coached scrimmages. Players work through different topics each day which focus on the fundamentals of soccer. They include: 1v1, 2v1, 3v2 etc, defending & attacking, shooting & finishing, dribbling & running with the ball as well as ball mastery. All sessions are designed to improve decision making ability and speed of play. All players can expect maximum touches on the ball in an unchallenged and challenged environment, to aid their development in various areas of their soccer intelligence and understanding.

Advanced:
Advanced sessions are designed for soccer players currently involved in club/select programs and players willing to be dedicated enough to enter this arena of soccer. The level of competition at camp increases and the demands on these players is higher through quality pre-season training to continually improve players for the new soccer season. Advanced camps demand a high level of hard work and commitment to improvement from every player. Coaches expect a certain level of technical ability prior to commencing training, where groups will be kept to small numbers for more focus from coaches. Training curriculum includes:
- Improvement of 1v1 abilities
- Skill and change of directions
- Running with the ball
- Core and advanced passing & receiving (short/long/lofted)
- Attack vs. Defense overload situations (Attacking & Defending Principles of play)
- Counter-attacking play
- Develop decision making ability

McAllister Park San Antonio

McAllister Park is located in the North East of San Antonio very close to the airport. It has 3 soccer fields and we will be using either the Upper Bee Tree or the Anderson fields. It has all grass fields and pavilion areas for lunch and shade as well as public restrooms.
