Hailey Post isn't wasting any time as she already has high hopes for the spring semester.
"The biggest goal is to win the conference and continue on to nationals," Post said, "but first I have to develop more as a coach and learn as much as I can."
Post has a spectacular resumé, having started out her college career at Central Arizona College where she was a second-team Arizona Collegiate College Athletic Conference selection as a sophomore. She played catcher, third base and shortstop at Central Arizona.
Post finished her college career at Boise State University, starting both years for the Broncos. She spent her senior year at catcher and third base, hitting .273 with 23 RBI. She finished her stellar college career in the top ten for career slugging percentage as well as on-base percentage.
Post played professionally overseas in Therwil, Switzerland before accepting a position on the coaching staff at Kansas Wesleyan University in 2016. There, she was a graduate assistant for a semester before taking over as head coach.
What Post really brings to the team, head coach Donna Fields explains, is "her knowledge behind the plate. As a coach, you try to find those people that are going to complement what your strengths are and what their strengths are."
Fields added: "She has caught some of the big names being at the D-I level and then went on to play professionally. Her experience behind the plate and what she can do (will be a great asset to the program)."
Upon her first visit of St. Mary's, Post discovered that University possesses a "family and home-orientated vibe, and you could tell that the other coaches and departments supported each other. I think that is huge when you work in an Athletics department. "
Post believes her young age is a big asset to her coaching style.
"I have only been out of school for three years," she said. "Being able to relate to the athletes and understanding the grind that it takes is really important when it comes to building that relationship with them."
One of Post's biggest strengths lies in her recruiting skills.
"A big piece is recruiting," she said. "I have really good personal skills and I'm able to relate to a lot of young athletes and finding those talented and educated students that can contribute in their program. I think that is my biggest strength, to be able to recruit not only good players but academic players as well."
This camp is for softball players of all abilities ages 8-18. Instruction will focus primarily on hitting, specific position fielding, base-running, and game situations. In addition, pitchers will have the opportunity to work with pitching instructors. See "More Camp Details" for further information.

St. Mary's new, state-of-the-art softball complex rivals Division I facilities and includes locker rooms, batting cages, a ticket office and outfield berm seating.
The complex is part of The Park at St. Mary's, which is a modern, multi-use sports facility capable of hosting NCAA tournaments and championships. Construction on the $16 million complex began in spring 2012, and reached completion in the fall of 2013. It features upgraded facilities for athletes and fans, including renovations to the baseball field and construction of new baseball facilities, additional tennis courts, two soccer fields and two softball fields with a stadium with locker rooms. The project is a partnership between St. Mary’s and Bexar County, with a $6 million grant coming from Bexar County’s Community Venues Program.
