Seattle University, located in downtown Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood, hosts its 12th annual Nike Swim Camp in 2018. With state-of-the-art facilities and an excellent coaching staff headed by Craig Nisgor, the Head Men's and Women's Swim coach at Seattle University, come see why this has been a camper favorite for the past 10 summers.
Instruction takes place at SU’s Redhawk Center, the home of TWO indoor 25-yard x 6 lane pools. Upon arrival at camp, campers are placed in groups with other swimmers having similar abilities and goals. Our camp staff will do their best to accommodate your needs, keeping in consideration your experience and desire to improve.
The Nike Swim Camp at Seattle University is open to any and all entrants. For your safety and benefit, we recommend you have competitive swimming experience (e.g. U.S.S. age group, national qualifiers, high school swimmers, or summer league swimmers) and can swim at least 50 meters in all four competitive strokes: fly, back, breast and freestyle.

Camp Director Craig Nisgor

Craig Nisgor finished his fifth season as the head coach of the Seattle University men's and women's swimming teams. Nisgor coached the programs first WAC champion in 2015-16.
The Redhawk swimmers continued their assault on the record books and all-time top 10 times lists in 2013-14. On the men's side, the Redhawks pulled out a dual meet victory over longtime rival Simon Fraser. For the women, Nisgor guided a young team to numerous personal best marks.
In the 2012-2013 swim season, the women's team competed in the WAC while the men continued to compete in the MPSF conference. Kevlyn Richards qualified for the World Championship Trials and broke the school record in the breaststroke at the WAC championships. Men's swimming member Tomas Mendez-Beck also broke a seven-year school record in the butterfly, and the men's team had 10 student-athletes receive MPSF All-Academic honors. The Western Athletic Conference reinstated men's swimming and diving for the 2013-2014 season.
He stabilized the Seattle U swim program, helping the team post at least one time within the all-time top ten lists for every event. He also coached Kevlyn Richards to a qualifying time for the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials.
Nisgor joined Brown's coaching staff in July 2007 as the top assistant coach and recruiting coordinator, involved with all aspects of the Bears program including on-deck coaching, administrative duties, pool management, and season planning. Nisgor helped coach Brown's first Academic All-American in program history as well as three qualifiers for the U.S. Olympic Trials as the Bears set 28 school records and established 25 percent of the all-time top 10 times over the past four years.
Nisgor came to Brown from the University of Alabama, where he was an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for four seasons. While at Alabama, he experienced a great deal of success as he helped coach a two-time NCAA 200 breaststroke champion, the 2006 200 breaststroke world champion, and 22 All-Americans.
From 2000-2003, Nisgor was the top assistant coach at Davidson College, helping the Wildcats establish 19 new school records and post 40 percent of the program's all-time top-10 performances. Nisgor has also spent time as an assistant coach at American University (2000), the University of Virginia (1999), Ball State (1996-98), and the University of Buffalo (1995-96).
Nisgor earned a bachelor's degree in exercise studies with a concentration in athletic training from the University of Buffalo in 1996. He went on to earn a master's degree in athletic administration from Ball State in 1998.

This summer, Seattle U is offering two sessions of overnight camp with a day camp (9:00am-5:15pm) option for ages 9-18. Upon arrival at camp, campers are placed in groups with other swimmers having similar abilities and goals. Our camp staff will do their best to accommodate your needs, keeping in consideration your experience and desire to improve.

DAY CAMP AMENITIES

• Camp hours: Day 1 2PM-9PM, Day 2-Day 3 9AM-5:15PM, Day 4 9AM-12PM
A detailed camper registration packet containing check in location, health/release forms, emergency contact info, and a list of things to bring will be emailed to all registered campers in the Spring. Our health and release forms do not require a doctor's signature and they will be collected on the first day of camp.
Check-in takes place between 1:00pm-2:00pm on Sunday, June 24th (Session I) and Saturday, June 30th (Session II).
A Closing Ceremony will take place at 11:30am on Thursday, June 27th (Session I) and Tuesday, July 3rd (Session II).
HOUSING & ROOMMATES
Campers stay 2 per room and are assigned by age and roommate requests. If you don't have a roommate request, you will be placed in a room with someone near your age. It will be a great opportunity to meet someone new! Boys and girls are housed on seperate floors with gender specific counselors on them.

SUGGESTED SPENDING MONEY: $40
MEDICAL FACILITY: a certified trainer will be on staff at all times
SUPERVISION: The staff reside in the dormitories with the campers and participate in all activities. Drugs, alcohol and tobacco are strictly prohibited, and constitute, along with general misconduct, grounds for dismissal from camp without a refund.
- Check-in takes place between 1:30pm-2:00pm. All day campers are invited to stay until 9:00pm on the first day with dinner included.
- A Closing Ceremony will take place at 11:30am on Wednesday. Check-out immediately following

TEAM DISCOUNT: If five or more campers register together, each camper is eligible for a $25 discount. Please have a team contact reach out directly to the USSC office at 1-800-645-3226 to receive a discount code to identify your group. Campers may then register through the website at their convenience and apply the coupon code during check-out.
SCHOLARSHIP AVAILABLE: 1 scholarship available for day camp each summer. Requirements - 1. Essay from camper about why they should receive the scholarship. 2. Documentation from school for free or reduced lunch. 3. Send applications to Craig Nisgor at email@example.com.

SU is the home of one of the finest Natatoriums in Seattle. Located in the Redhawk Center, our two indoor 25 yard pools serve Seattle University’s Men’s and Women’s Division I-A varsity swim teams as well as facilitate traditional and trending recreational, fitness and educational opportunities for the SU community.
