USSC is proud to offer our 8th Nike Swim Camp in Wisconsin at Lawrence University with Head Swim Coach Andrew Fleek. Designed for competitive swimmers to improve and refine their stroke technique our goal at the Nike Swim Camp is to teach the things that will make the biggest difference to your performance.
The 84-acre campus is located in downtown Appleton, divided into two parts by the Fox River. The academic campus is on the north shore of the river, and the major athletic facilities are on the southeast shore. Campers train each day at the Olympic-size swimming pool in the Buchanan Kiewit Wellness Center. Camp will be limited to 50 campers per session so we encourage you to register soon!
The Nike Swim Camp at Lawrence University is open to any and all entrants. For your safety and benefit, we recommend you have competitive swimming experience (e.g. U.S.S. age group, national qualifiers, high school swimmers, or summer league swimmers) and can swim at least 50 meters in all four competitive strokes: fly, back, breast and freestyle.

Andrew Fleek took over the Lawrence University swimming and diving teams for the 2008-09 season. Fleek was named the head coach in April 2008.

Camp Details
This summer, Lawrence University is offering three sessions of camp for ages 9-18. Upon arrival at camp, campers are placed in groups with other swimmers having similar abilities and goals. Our camp staff will do their best to accommodate your needs, keeping in consideration your experience and desire to improve.
2024 OVERVIEW OVERNIGHT CAMP
- Dates: June 16-20
- Age Group: 11-18
- Gender: Coed
- Camp Type: Overnight, Extended Day (commuter)
- Check-in: Overnight Campers: Check-in Sunday between 1:00-2:00pm at Warch Campus Center. Overnight campers stay in Sage Hall right next to the Warch Campus Center. Extended Day Campers: Check-in Sunday between 1:30-2:00pm at Warch Campus Center.
- Check-out: A closing ceremony will take place at the Warch Campus Center at 11:30am on Thursday. Extended Day Campers will be picked up at the pool immediately following the closing ceremony. Overnight campers check-out from the dorm immediate following.
- Day Schedule: SUN 2PM-8PM, MON-WED 9AM-8PM, THURS 9AM-12PM **Times subject to change
- Meals: All meals are provided for Overnight campers. Lunch and dinner are provided for all Extended Day (commuter) campers.
- Program: During the Stroke Technique program swimmers will receive detailed instruction on technique in all four competitive strokes, as well as starts, turns, and relay exchanges. Each camper will be instructed in small groups with other swimmers of similar skill level by the camp director, coaches, and counselors. Campers should be able to swim 100 yards without stopping and at least 25 yards of freestyle and breaststroke.
2024 OVERVIEW DAY CAMP
- Dates: June 10-13 & July 8-11
- Age Group: 9-18
- Gender: Coed
- Camp Type: Day Camp
- Schedule: 9:00am-4:00pm, Monday-Thursday
- Check-In: between 8:30-9:00am at the Buchanan Kiewit Wellness Center.
- Lunch: Lunch is not provided. Please bring a packed lunch.

CHECK-IN OVERNIGHT CAMP
Sunday, June 16th
- Overnight Campers: Check-in Sunday between 1:00-2:00pm at Warch Campus Center. Overnight campers stay in Sage Hall right next to the Warch Campus Center.

2024 HOUSING
- Dorm: Sage Hall
- Number of Campers Per Room: 2 per room
- Roommates: Rooms are assigned by age & roommate requests. Roommate requests must be mutual and received no later than 14 days before the start of camp. If you don't have a roommate request, you will be placed in a room with someone near your age. It will be a great opportunity to meet someone new!
- Bathrooms: Shared
- Linens: Not included. Bring linens or sleeping bag, pillow, pillowcase, and a towel.
- Air Conditioning: No - Please bring a fan
SUPERVISION
The staff reside in the dormitories with the campers and participate in all activities. Drugs, alcohol and tobacco are strictly prohibited, and constitute, along with general misconduct, grounds for dismissal from camp without a refund.
WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FEE - OVERNIGHT CAMP?
- Instruction: Morning, afternoon, and evening training sessions
- Overnight campers: Dormitory housing on campus and all meals are provided.
- Extended Day campers: Lunch and dinner are provided for all Extended Day (commuter) campers.
- Supervision: Staff members reside in campers’ quarters and participate in all activities.
- Camp T-shirt & Prizes: Campers at multi-day camps will receive a Nike Swim Camps t-shirt and prizes.

INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT & FACILITY
- Ratio: 1:10 staff-to-camper ratio
- Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, ability, and experience.
- Equipment Needed: Please bring your water swimsuit, swim cap, googles and towel(s)
- Facility: Buchanan Kiewit Wellness Center
- Medical Protocol: Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

EXTENDED DAY CAMPERS (JUNE 16-20)
Checklist of Things to Bring: We recommend that all Extended Day Campers bring a daily pack with the following items: swimsuit, swim cap, goggles, towel, sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, sandals, water bottle, dry land gear (running shoes, t-shirt, athletic shorts, sweatshirt) and any other appropriate clothing for that day’s activities which will be described to you on the first day of camp.
Camp Schedule & Meals:
- Sunday: Extended Day Campers should arrive dressed and ready to swim. You will be assigned a counselor and given a complete schedule of all events during the week. Extended Day Campers stay until 8:00pm. Dinner is provided.
- Monday-Wednesday: Extended Day Camper Hours – 9:00am-8:00pm. Lunch and dinner is provided.
- Thursday: Extended Day Camper Hours - 9:00am-11:30am. Check-out is immediately after the camp concludes.
DAY CAMPERS (JUNE 10-13 & JULY 8-11)
LIST OF ITEMS TO BRING: Swimsuit(s), Swim Goggles, Swim cap(s), Towels (2), T-shirts, Shorts, Water Bottle, Running Shoes, Jacket, Lunch each day
TRANSPORTATION
Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.

Lawrence University
