Nike Peak Performance July Summer Session 1 Swim Camp Seattle, WA
HELPING COMPETITIVE SWIMMERS PERFORM AT PEAK LEVELS
HAS BEEN OUR TOP PRIORITY FOR THE PAST 22 YEARS.
The Seattle Peak Performance Swim Camp takes place at the University of Washington. Our beloved swim camp at UW features two training levels for competitive swimmers ages 8-18, and offers both day and overnight packages.
Maximizing swimming potential through a holistic training approach is the mission of Peak Performance Swim Camp. To fulfill our mission, we seek to empower our swimmers through a two-tiered process of teaching and training. The teaching side includes daily chalk talks, video presentations, and ongoing poolside demonstrations. In addition, a targeted teaching strategy focused on swimmers’ individual needs is employed.
We pride ourselves in offering a balance between physical, technical and mental training. Peak 1 offers a 75/25 blend of physical and technical conditioning while Peak 2 offers a 50/50 blend of physical and technical conditioning. In addition, this camp offers an in-depth mental conditioning curriculum designed to enhance a swimmer's self-esteem, develop focus skills and improve the ability to perform in stressful situations.
Camp Director Nick Baker
Nick Baker cofounded the original Peak Performance Swim Camp in 1996. In 2005 he branched out on his own and founded the present-day version. His vision was to create a holistic camp with a focus on developing the whole swimmer from a mental, technical, and physical perspective.View Nick Baker's Bio & Swim Tips ⟩

Well-suited for advanced age group and senior-level swimmers, ages 11-18, who train 5,000 yards/meters (or greater) per practice.
PEAK 1 is our most challenging swim camp. The camp builds throughout the week in both intensity and expectation. State-of-the-art skill progressions are combined with challenging swim sets. Swimmers are challenged to maintain their newly acquired skills throughout each set. Each day begins with a powerful mental presentation emphasizing the important role that the mind plays in peak swimming performance. The underlying “positive mental message” is repeated throughout the day to heighten its impact and create lasting change. Each day of camp ends on a high note with swimmers feeling mentally, technically, and physically empowered.
In addition to our 8 challenging in-water training sessions, PEAK 1 also includes 4 intense dry-land training sessions, 3 swimming related yoga sessions, and 4 inspiring mental conditioning sessions.
Note: Peak 1 is not well suited for swimmers with swimming-related injuries.
Ideally suited for developmental, intermediate, and advanced age group swimmers, ages 9-16, who train between 3,000 to 5,000 yards/meters per practice.
PEAK 2 is the lead-up camp to PEAK 1. The daily structure of PEAK 2 is similar to PEAK 1, but the skill progressions and challenging swim sets are adjusted to reflect skill and performance levels. Lane assignments for swimmers are based on ability level rather than age. Like PEAK 1, each day begins with a powerful mental presentation emphasizing the important role that the mind plays in peak swimming performance. The underlying “positive mental message” is repeated throughout the day to heighten its impact and create lasting change. Each day of camp ends on a high note with swimmers feeling mentally, technically, and physically empowered.
In addition to our 8 challenging in-water training sessions, PEAK 2 also includes 4 intense dry-land training sessions, 3 swimming related yoga sessions, and 4 inspiring mental conditioning sessions.
Camp Check-In and Orientation for both swimmers and parents will take place at the camp pool facility, located at the University of Washington Husky Pool at Edmundson Pavilion. Swimmers will start camp immediately following, and should arrive to camp wearing swimsuits underneath their dry-land clothing.

Thank you again!
August 5, 2017: Many thanks to Coach Nick and his staff for an amazing week in Seattle! My daughter is focused, and has planned how she will incorporate what she learned from all of you as she prepares for college swimming. It was so great to see her smiling again from the pool. Hopefully her confidence will continue to grow. I know she's looking forward to updating you on her progress. Thank you again!
— Sharon K, Parent
Helped me tremendously!
August 10, 2016: Coach, thanks for the amazing opportunity to improve and make changes to my stroke. You have helped me tremendously in pointing out my mistakes but also pointing out my strengths. Thanks again to you and the PEAK coaches for all the help and confidence that you have given me.
— Emma M. Camper
August 8, 2016: My daughter had a wonderful experience at PEAK Summer Camp. This year’s experience will go a long way in her preparing for this season. There was never a dull moment in 5 days. Not a minute wasted. And she truly enjoyed meeting and swimming with swimmers of her age group. The private session and the video analysis are invaluable and a great investment. My daughter can’t wait to get back to the pool to practice what she learned. She appreciates the mental and physical conditioning that went with the camp. It was truly a holistic approach that Coach Nick and the team took to teach the kids. Thank you, Coach Nick and Staff, for your continued dedication to these kids. The techniques and approach that you use not only helps the kids in their sport, but will help them in life as well.
— Lindsay R. Parent
August 8, 2015: Our family has had two kids at camps, of varied skill levels, in multiple years. PEAK does an excellent job of tailoring the instruction to the sill level and experience of the individual swimmers. I am amazed at Coach Nick and the staff's ability to remember swimmers (and their strengths and challenges) from year to year. Recommend without equivocation!!
— Marlie S. Parent
Thanks so much!
August 7, 2015: Thank you for coaching me and helping me with all my strokes. I had an amazing time in your camp. I just came back from Junior Olympics and I got a medal in every single race. I got a 34.59 in my 50 FL because you helped me with my technique. I also got a first place in my 50 BR and 100 BR because of you. I still wear my Swim Positive bracelet and look forward to training with you again.
— Stuart B. Camper
August 7, 2015: Once again, thank you so much for the wonderful time at your camp. Max was so happy when he returned home and has since improved in all of his times. He recently dropped 16 seconds in his 400 IM. It was a great pleasure to watch you and your staff in action.
