About Lancing College
Situated high up on a hill near Brighton overlooking the sea and less than an hour from London, Lancing College is one of Britain's great private schools and is the perfect venue for players looking to experience a prestigious English School environment. The college has a reputation for academic and sporting excellence with 6 grass tennis courts and a further 22 hard courts.
This tennis program is designed for campers of any skill level, ages 10-17. Our tennis coaches are experienced in coaching players of all ages, language levels and abilities. They are energetic and passionate about youth development, ensuring the camp is a challenging and fun environment. Advanced players will be challenged technically, tactically and physically while developing players learn to master grip, spin, movement, power and consistency. Working on a 1:6 ratio coaches will use demonstration, practice and detailed feedback, including video analysis, to provide players with insight into their technique and how to improve. Alongside short-set matches and challenges, fitness and conditioning drills are used to improve footwork, balance and speed.
Each player receives a personal assessment from the coaching director together with a development plan from their coach.
Check in takes place on the first Monday of the session at 13:30 – 15:30 at Lancing College.
Check out takes place on the last Sunday of the session at 9:30 – 12:30 at Lancing College.

Campers will utilize the 6 grass courts, 22 hard courts and sports hall.
Campers will stay in single, twin and triple bedrooms and dormitories with shared bathroom facilities. Campers will also be able to do their laundry twice a week for no additional cost.
- Wimbledon Tour & Museum*
- Real Tennis at Petworth House & Arundel Town (week 1, 3 and 5)
- Portsmouth (Historic Dockyard, HMS Victory Tour and Gunwharf Quays shopping)
- London Walking Tour including Niketown (13-night camps)
All England Club at Wimbledon
In an exclusive tour, students will explore the Wimbledon Stadium grounds and museum, which offers a remarkable multi-dimensional tour of the traditions, triumphs, sights and sounds that have made Wimbledon the most coveted title in tennis since it was founded in 1868. (*Wimbledon is closed from July 2-15 for the championships so players at Lancing College will visit Brighton Beach)
The ‘Real Tennis’ Court and Petworth House
Campers will visit the beautiful 17th Century house and park, landscaped by Capability Brown. Many historic English country estates include ‘Real Tennis’ courts, and campers will try their hand at the game, which gave rise to the modern sport of tennis, but is quite different!
Portsmouth (Historic Dockyard, HMS Victory Tour and Gunwharf Quays shopping)
All players on camps at Lancing College will visit Portsmouth Royal Navy Dockyard and nearby Gunwharf Quays on the middle Sunday of their camp. Their trip to the Royal Navy Dockyard will include an interactive tour of HMS Victory, the impressive famous flagship of Lord Nelson in the Battle of Trafalgar. They will learn all about its chequered history and why it’s the only surviving naval warship of its time. Players will also enjoy a visit to the National Museum of the Royal Navy where they will learn all about the history of Britain’s naval force, bringing their Navy Dockyard experience to life.
Just round the corner is Gunwharf Quays, the south coast’s leading designer outlet shopping centre. Players will get a chance to explore the shops, including premium sports outlets such as Nike (of course!), as well as numerous discounted designer brands and opportunities for souvenirs including chocolatiers such as Cadburys and Lindt.
Portsmouth is only 40 miles from Lancing College so the additional benefit of visiting Portsmouth instead of London is that players will spend less time on a coach and more time enjoying their day out. We’re confident all the players will have a great experience on this excursion.
London Tour & Niketown
On the middle Sunday for all 13-night campers.
13-night campers go on both excursion plus an extra trip to London where they will tour landmarks such as Buckingham Palace and Big Ben as well as visiting Niketown on Oxford Street.
