As a student at Principia College she was a strong competitor in volleyball, swimming, and track and field and was the recipient of the Howard L. Mitchell Athletic Award her senior year.
Sprague started her coaching career at the high school level, and then served as the assistant coach at University of Missouri (D1) as a setter coach before moving to Florida. In Florida, Sprague was co-director of Jacksonville Juniors and coached the Elite 18s, as well as training setters for a community college. Upon her return to the midwest, Sprague has coached for Southern Heat Volleyball Club, and founded her own Club that works to develop young athletes in a rural area that has no consistency in their ability to offer coaches to middle school and high school programs.
Sprague has been a coach and personal trainer for volleyball players for 28 years and currently holds the highest certification granted by the volleyball coaches' accrediting program. Sprague has received four SLIAC Coach of the Year awards.
Mary Ann has put Principia College on the map with a variety of high quality youth volleyball training programs. She and her college players and alumni have coached over 650 local youth since 2008, including programs for kids as young as 2nd grade all the way to her (HIT) High Intensity Training Nike Volleyball camp and regional team camps she runs. Sprague will be offering Nike Volleyball camps again this year - at Principia College.
Sprague is also Principia's associate athletic director, directing the Sports Information department and the Graduate Assistant program.

August 11, 2015: I recommend this camp for all stages of play because it focuses on each level. No matter what stage of play you are at you get the reps, attention, and help that you need. They coaches are amazing and very understanding! Out of my 10 years of playing volleyball this was the best camp I ever went to, As a varsity player I learned a lot that I can bring to the game at my own level.

Can't wait for next year
July 31, 2015: We were very excited at the prospect of what Nike camp had to offer our daughter...and we were not disappointed! The atmosphere, campus and coaches were wonderful! We certainly plan for her to attend camp next year, even expand to two sessions instead. We can't wait for the season to start this year so we can see her improvement first hand!

My daughter experiences were unique for her during this camp. Campus life and gym facilities were excellent. Excellent place to make new friends. Coaching staff was very professional and knowledgeable. Coach Sprague and Coach Christina worked with my daughter and pushed her to the max. Both coaches inspired my daughter and helped her to understand that she needs to work hard and learn more about this sport to continue to excel while playing this sport. The camp did excellent work with my daughter skills. She was very excited about the beach volleyball camp. It was a new experience for my daughter. She had a good time playing beach volleyball and learned new skills for this sport. I hope the program is extended and continue to be offered. I do recommend these camps to other players and parents. A+

Receive Personal Instruction
My oldest daughter raves about the campus. She says it reminds her of Hogwarts...My youngest loves the food. The camp attendance is smaller than other camps they have attended. They receive personal instruction. The groups are very structured and focused. A wonderful experience for both 1st timers and experienced campers

"My daughter attended several camps this summer, and the Nike camp was her favorite by far."
"This year was the first year we sent our daughter to the Nike Volleyball Camp. We did not know what to expect. My daughter learned a great deal at camp. She told us that the intense workout is just that...intense! She said that the instructors were great. She is looking forward to going again next year."
"It was an incredible experience for my daughter Kaleigh. She didn't want to leave the camp and she said she wants to go for a week next time. She couldn't say enough about the coaches and staff and she was sad to leave. She also said she wants to attend Principia College and she hopes to play volleyball there. Thank you!"
"The Principia Volleyball Summer Camp experience was wonderful for my daughter. She went knowing no one and a rather shy child, and came home with friends and a stronger volleyball player. The combination of volleyball instruction and personal growth have helped her physically and mentally to be a more confident, well rounded child. I would not hesitate to send her again next year! Thanks for a great experience."
"My daughter and her friend really enjoyed the camp. Camp was very organized and friendly. They met a lot of new friends and are anxious to return next year. The length of 4 days/3 nights was perfect. They also learned how to improve on their skills. Coaches were very good."
My daughter's awareness of the game increased 200%. Physical and technical abilities were developed and simple yet powerful techniques incorporated in her game play. Coaches where very attentive and had complete knowledge of the game and its fundamentals. Overall excellent camp, location, coaching and context. My personal thanks to MaryAnn for her attentions before and during and after the camp.
Our daughter had a great experience at Principia. Challenging, fun, fast-paced, great coaches, great food, beautiful campus environment. She came home tired, but excited about her experience. She plans to attend next year!
Camp is intense, well run, and a fun experience all at the same time. I had a daughter that entered the camp unsure of her skills and left camp a much improved and, just as important, her confidence level is WAY up!.....Thanks coaches.
