Director Gabrielle Houston
Gabrielle Houston was named as head coach of the UC Santa Cruz women's volleyball program on August 2nd 2018.View Gabrielle's Bio ⟩
She becomes the 12th head coach in program history. Houston is no stranger to UCSC. Her father James was a Professor of Creative Writing and her sister Cori served as the Banana Slugs' women's soccer coach 1988-95 before becoming the Athletics Director.
Houston comes to UCSC after working the past nine years as the head coach at Cabrillo College. In her tenure at Cabrillo, she amassed a whopping 239-31 record leading the Seahawks to 9 straight Coast Conference Championships, a pair of state titles and reached the Final Four on four occasions. In 2013, her 5th season, Cabrillo won their first-ever CCCAA state championship title and became the first Northern California team in the 36-year history of the CCCAA to win a state championship. She coached 10 All-State players, 8 All-NorCal, 7 Coast Conference MVPs, 18 All-State tournament and 5 All-Americans.
She is also Director of the Main Beach Volleyball Club, one of the top juniors volleyball clubs in Northern California. She has worked with their 16s, 17s and 18s teams.
Prior to Cabrillo, Gabrielle took over a struggling high school program at Mount Madonna High School (2006 - 2009), a Division 5 school with a coed student population of under 60. Although one of the smallest schools in the state, it competes in a league of schools with enrollment upwards of 1,400 students. In her first year, Gabrielle improved Mt. Madonna's conference standing from last place (2-16 record) to 3rd place in the SCCAL and a first-ever CCS playoff berth. The following season in 2007, Gabrielle guided the tiny school to its first league title. With only 9 eligible players, Mt. Madonna took the momentum of a conference championship into the CCS tournament and a CIF State Championship, the first-ever in school history and the first SCCAL team in over 10 years to win a State Title.
Co-Director Morgan Ehritt
Morgan Ehritt played for Cabrillo College for two years and was instrumental in helping Cabrillo to win the Conference Championships both seasons. She was on the Dean's List and won 1st Team North Coast Conference. Ehritt graduated from Cabrillo and furthered her education as well as played volleyball for UCSC.View Morgan Ehritt's Bio ⟩
At UCSC she was the starting right side hitter and led her team to history, making their first appearance at the NCAA National Championships. On the court she was a stalwart in the most successful two-year period in UCSC Volleyball history. In two years, Ehritt tallied 211 kills with a .234 hitting percentage.
Ehritt is from Ventura where she played varsity volleyball for three years and was MVP of the league her senior year. She was the recipient of 'Athlete of the Year' of the senior class.
Ehritt is currently a coach at the local club based in Aptos, Main Beach, and when she is not coaching you can find her at the beach playing ball, gardening or at home baking! She says, 'I love volleyball! I would like to help build strong young women who can use what they learn, as a member of our program, in the world when they leave UCSC. I want this program and experience to be positive and fulfilling and give each athlete the chance to grow more, become a student and teacher of the game, and learn the true meaning of team."
Ehritt majored in Environmental Studies and minored in Education.

July 13, 2018: Everyday was a build on to days before and by the end my child had built her skills up much higher. The soft serve was the best soft serve my kid has ever had. I think that this camp was run very well i just wish sometimes there would have been a little more time to eat slower.

Had a blast
August 1, 2016: With the help of the coaches at Nike Volleyball Camp, I got the help and feedback I needed to improve my skills as a player, as well as a teammate. Not only did the help from coaches improve my skills, but the encouragement of the many new friends I made at the Nike Camp boosted my enthusiasm for the game, and confidence to really have a good time on the court. I would highly recommend Nike Volleyball Camp to anyone considering about joining a volleyball team or just working on their skills. I really had a blast at this camp.

Grouped by Ability
I really enjoyed this camp. The coaches made sure you were right in your ability level, that also challenged you. They had drills to match your abilit and they made them fun:)
Fun and Hard Work
In less than a week, this camp reminded me why i play volleyball and how much I love this sport. I improved so much and had fun while working very hard.
Overall, this camp was a great experience for me. I feel that I improved my volleyball skills and I played in a setting that ws more advanced than what I usually play in.
Returning Next year
My second year at camp, I had a blast! Training and coaching helped me for the upcoming volleyball season at school. I will definitely return next year!
It is fun, the coaches are good, and you can really improve on your volleyball skills.
Fun and exciting
Nike Volleyball Camp was a truly fun and exciting experience. I got to spend an good amount of time with my friends but I also enjoyed making new friends. My skill level went up so much because I played with other volleyball players almost exactly my level. The best thing they did, though, was letting me have one of the best weeks of my life!
Gets you in shape
This camp was really fun and informative at the same time. You really get in shape over the course of the week while making new friends.
Awesome camp! My daughter learned great volleyball fundamentals while enjoying a week on the California coast.
This camp is very safe. The coaches are experienced and fun to be with. I already knew the basics of volleyball but this camp taught me how to improve my skills and feel confident about them.
As an advanced player, they evaluated me pointing out the area of weakness in my game. They stressed on what areas I need to work on to improve my game and to strive to be an outstanding person and player. They provided information on what colleges are looking for in a player, stressed that good grades too are a factor in awarding scholarships. The Santa Cruz camp was a great experience. I have participated in lots of camps locally, but found the UCSC camp the best so far. The size of campers to coaches was just right. I was at a camp that had 40 girls at my playing level, so individual instruction was limited. I made so many friends at this camp. More so than any I have attended. We keep in touch and plan on keeping in touch during our volleyball season. I hope I can again attend one of these camps. Thank you Nike VB for the camp at UCSC.
The overall experience was very positive, every area was very well organized and fun.
I had a great coach, the staff kept us very safe, and the food was delicious.
"Nike volleyball camp at uc santa cruz was an awesome camp. It was really well organized and i learned a lot and improved so much during the week. The dorms were really nice too and the food was really good. Also the campus was amazing and the trip to the beach and the boardwalk was sooo much fun. i also met alot of great friends at the camp and of course i loved playing volleyball and the coaches were really helpful. I would totally recommend this camp to anybody with a passion for volleyball."
Great for International Players!
"I heard through my daughters stories and she had a blast. For an advanced volleyball player, the level was good and the coaches pushed the team to try harder. I highly recommend this camp to all volleyball players of all levels. They always improve. And the coaches were amazing and so fun! Coming from Europe I was impressed by the organization of the camp. For international volleyball players it was a great experience."
Fun and Challenging!
"I had a blast at Nike camp! The coaches and players all made for an exciting learning experience. I definitely thought that staying overnight really contributed to the team chemistry, and positive attitude throughout the entire camp! I recommend this camp to anyone who loves volleyball, is willing to learn, and can endure sore muscles!!"
This camp was really fun for me. I made loads of new friends, the coaches were really friendly, and the dorms were really nice too! The instruction at this camp was great, and I ended up taking away many new skills and drills to practice at home. I've been going to this camp for two years now, and it's like it gets more and more fun every year!
My daughter came back from Nike camp full of enthusiasm and confidence in herself and her volleyball skills.
