Join Shantay Legans, Head Coach of University of Portland Men's Basketball and Coach Legs Basketball Camps, and his staff for basketball training and serious fun in summer 2026! This boys basketball camp is the perfect spot for kids to sharpen their skills with a daily schedule covering shooting and dribbling drills, gameplay tactics, and scrimmaging.

The Complete Skills Camp helps players of all abilities develop athletically, refine fundamental basketball skills and enhance their skill set at the post, wing or guard position.

    Matt Meyer has spent the last year as the Director of Player Development for the Pilots before becoming Director of Basketball Operations. He is the youngest Division I Men's Director of Basketball Operations.

    Matt Graduated from Arizona State University in 2022, where he was the ASU Men's Basketball Team Manager for 4 years.

    Shantay Legans was hired as the University of Portland men’s basketball head coach in March of 2021 after he led Eastern Washington to the 2021 NCAA Tournament.

    Legans carried that winning pedigree to The Bluff where he guided the Pilots to 19 wins and the program’s first postseason victory at the NCAA level in 2022. Legans matched the fourth-most wins in a season since Portland joined the Division I ranks in 1958.

    Other highlights from his inaugural season at Portland included a road win against NCAA Tournament participant San Francisco, a 7-7 West Coast Conference record, and a six-game win streak late in the season. Legans was also able to bring back the top seven scorers and all major contributors to the 2022-23 roster, in addition to a talented class of transfers and incoming freshmen.

    At Eastern Washington, Legans helped lead the Eagles to five of the program’s seven all-time postseason appearances during his 12 years on staff. In his four years as head coach in Cheney, he compiled the best overall (.605) and conference (.726) winning percentages in school history. As head coach, he also guided the Eagles to an NCAA Tournament appearance, Big Sky Coach of the Year honor and two conference championships. Legans also served on the NCAA Rules Committee and CollegeInsider.com's Eracism Committee for promoting equality and inclusion in collegiate athletics.

    He was one of 25 finalists for the 2021 Skip Prosser Man of the Year Award which goes to a coach who not only achieves success on the court but who displays moral integrity off the floor. Legans was also among the 25 finalists for the Ben Jobe Award presented to the top NCAA Division I minority coach.

    Legans was ranked 11th on ESPN's "40 Under 40" list of the top 40 college basketball coaches under the age of 40 in 2020. In addition to the Eagles' success on the floor, the men's basketball program achieved a team GPA of 3.40 or above in each of his four seasons in Cheney.

    Anthony Separovich is an assistant men’s basketball coach at University of Portland, joining the program in 2025 under head coach Shantay Legans. He is known for his expertise in player development and international recruiting, particularly through his work connecting Australian athletes with U.S. college programs.

    Before arriving at Portland, he served as the recruiting director for AUSA Hoops, where he helped place over 100 players into college teams and supported hundreds more competing in AAU events. His earlier coaching career in Australia included leading the Norths Bears to a championship and directing a large, successful basketball program at Shore School, where he guided a team to an undefeated state title season. Separovich also has playing experience at the collegiate level, having competed at Bloomfield College, and brings a global recruiting perspective that aligns with Portland’s strategy to build a competitive roster through international talent.

Alongside colleagues like Anthony Separovich, he is also part of Portland’s growing international recruiting presence, particularly with connections to Australia, helping strengthen the program’s pipeline of global talent.

    Arturo has extensive high school basketball head coaching experience and winning pedigree, winning 3 Valley championships and Coach of the Year in 2009.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FEE?

INSTRUCTION & FACILITY

CAMPER EVALUATION

Upon arrival, all participants are evaluated by the staff so that their own instructional needs can be addressed throughout the week. In addition, campers will be evaluated and then split up into smaller groups according to age and ability.

MEDICAL PROTOCOL

Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

COMPANY POLICIES

If you need to cancel for any reason up until 24 hours prior to camp check-in, you will receive a camp credit voucher for tuition fees paid that is good through the following year for any sport and is transferable to any immediate family member. Participants who DO NOT attend their registered session (no-shows for any reason) or who do not contact USSC to cancel at least 24 hours prior to camp check-in will not receive a voucher or refund. Cash refunds are given only if Cancellation Protection was purchased at the time of registration and the cancellation is made before your balance due date.

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation is not provided by the camp to or from any airports. If you are flying to or from camp, we recommend using an airport shuttle service. Please schedule flights as close as you can to the check-in times on the first day and check-out times on the last day.

  • Address: 5000 N Portsmouth Ave, Portland, Oregon 97203. The camp takes place at University of Portland, a Division I college campus. Led by camp director Matt Meyer. Popular with families from Vancouver, WA, Scappoose, Beaverton, Gresham, and other nearby towns.

  • Sessions are $560 for a 5-day camp. A deposit secures your spot, with the balance due by the 1st day of the month prior to camp starting.

  • This camp is for athletes ages 6 to 13, boys only. All skill levels welcome. Campers may be grouped by age, skill, or experience.

  • 3 sessions across summer, from July 6 through July 24, 2026. Select your dates above to check availability.

  • This is a day camp. Monday-Thursday runs 9 AM to 3 PM, Friday runs 9 AM to 12 PM.
