Alexander Canale joined the Columbia Women's rowing staff in 2022 as the program's assistant coach. Canale came to Columbia University after spending the previous five seasons as the head coach of women's rowing at Manhattan College. A former student-athlete at Loyola University (MD), Canale was a member of the Greyhounds' rowing team that was the conference runner up for four years (2006-2009). Canale completed his undergraduate degree with a Bachelor's of Science in chemistry. He earned his Master's Degree in educational leadership from Saint Peter's University in 2014.
