  • Season 2025
My child loved playing the course in the rain.
  • Season 2025
Not only the golf but the social aspect after golf and staying in the dorms. He had a great time hanging out with fellow golfers.
  • Season 2025
I loved that there was lots of intensive golf play. I was disappointed to hear that one morning when it rained, they all watched the movie Bagger Vance, which makes sense, except that in the afternoon when it was no longer raining, our son said they had to listen to verbal instructions for 1.5 hours. That is surely something that could have been done in the morning while it was raining. Also, the camp was supposed to end at 4:45 p.m. each day, but in fact instruction ended at more like 4:00 p.m. or so. Then Thursday it ended at 2:30 p.m., which is not what was advertised. So I had to make arrangements for someone to pick our son up much earlier than expected. So, my suggestion for improvement would be to have the camp end at 5pm. Also, have it be a 5-day camp, from Monday through Friday. I would pay more to have it be a five-day camp. Thank you!

  • Season 2025
I was told that the college kids/instructors were on their cellphones and didn't provide much instruction. Will not be coming back next year.

Facility

John W. Mooty Golf Facility

The John W. Mooty Golf Facility is the new state-of-the-art training center for the University of Minnesota Golf Team. The facility officially opened its doors in January, 2019. Despite being one of the Big Ten's elite golf programs with an NCAA Championship and several Big Ten titles, Minnesota has not previously had any indoor golf training space, something other programs across the Big Ten and the nation have enjoyed for decades. Knowing this facility was a need to ensure continued success and growth of both programs, the athletics department successfully raised enough private contributions to fully fund the facility's construction.

The new men's and women's facility features heated indoor hitting bays for golfers to practice full swings in all weather conditions, as well as indoor practice greens for putting and chipping. It also includes locker rooms for both teams, offices for the coaching staffs of both teams, a lounge for students to relax, study, and bond as a team, and a Hall of Fame area to celebrate the achievements of both programs.

The new facility is located on the University's St. Paul campus, immediately adjacent to the historic Les Bolstad Golf Course.
