Join us at the Nike Girls Lacrosse Camp at Howard University and elevate your game with elite coaching from Head Coach Karen Healy‑Silcott. Our training blends focused skill work, game concepts, and competitive play to help athletes improve quickly and confidently.

Set on Howard University’s historic 256‑acre campus, this camp offers an inspiring environment and top‑tier facilities. Campers train daily at Greene Stadium, home of the Howard women’s lacrosse team, for a true Division I experience.

    In July 2021, Howard University announced Karen Healy-Silcott as the Bison's new women's lacrosse head coach.

    Camp Director

    Healy-Silcott arrives at Howard with over 20 years of coaching experience at various levels of competition. She is returning to Division I after spending the last four years in California as the Girls Director for the Firehawks Youth Lacrosse Club. Healy-Silcott also served on the Executive Board for the Oakland Lacrosse Club and is currently a member of the Jamaica National Women's Lacrosse team, most recently representing Jamaica in the last World cup qualifying event as a team captain.

    Prior to California, Healy-Silcott was the Head Coach at Bryant University. She led the team's successful transition from Division II to Division I and recruited many athletes who garnered academic and post-season accolades. Before taking the reins at Bryant, Healy-Silcott served as an assistant coach at the University of Massachusetts and an Assistant Program Director for Metro Lacrosse in Boston, MA.

    A 2002 graduate of Syracuse University, Healy-Silcott was a starter on the Inaugural Team. She earned 2nd team Regional All-American honors as a midfielder in both her freshman and sophomore years. Two ACL surgeries were an initial blow to her career, but Healy-Silcott fought back and, after a brief stint as a goalie, moved back onto the field, earning 2nd Team All-Big East Honors as a defender her senior season. She graduated with a degree in African American Studies.

    Originally from Freeport, N.Y., Healy-Silcott was a multi-sport high school athlete, earning Lacrosse, basketball, soccer, and cross country honors. In Lacrosse, she was a 2X US Lacrosse All American, Empire State Games MVP, 3X All-County, and 3X Team MVP.

    In July 2025, Abby Hampson joined the Howard University women's lacrosse program as an assistant coach.

    During her time as a graduate student, she served as team captain and led the Bald Eagles to their first playoff appearance since 2018. As an attacker and draw specialist, Hampson appeared in 42 games over three seasons.

    In addition to her athletic achievements, Hampson completed a two-year graduate assistantship in athletic operations for all varsity sports at Lock Haven (2023-25), as well as serving as president of the Sport Management club during the 2023-24 academic year.

    Hampson earned both her Bachelor's (2024) and Master's (2025) of Science in Sport Management from Lock Haven University.

    In 2022, Alexis Joseph joined the Howard University women's lacrosse team as a volunteer assistant coach.

    She graduated from Duke University May '22 with a B.A in Visual Arts on track for Architecture and was a defender on the women's lacrosse team. During her time at Duke, she earned the Top 6 ACC Service Award and the Samuel DuBois Cook Undergraduate Student Award for service and leadership. She also spearheaded a free lacrosse clinic for Black and Brown girls in Durham. Alexis was the president of UBA (United Black Athletes) her junior and senior year where she led diversity training with administration and staff.

    Prior to Howard, she coached with HHH Girls Philly, Eyekonz Philly, and Ultimate Girls NC at various age groups.

  • Supervision: Campers are supervised by staff during camp hours.

  • Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, ability, and experience.
  • Equipment Needed: Please bring your cleats, protective goggles & mouthpiece and lacrosse stick(s)
  • Facility: Greene Stadium
  • Medical Protocol: Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

TRANSPORTATION

The 256-acre campus, often referred to as "The Mecca", is in northwest Washington, DC. Campers train each day at Greene Stadium the home of the women's lacrosse team.
