Camp Coaches

    Abraham Muheize

    Camp Director

Abraham Muheize is a lifelong athlete, entrepreneur, coach, and community builder whose passion for sports has shaped every chapter of his career. A former All-American football player, Abraham transitioned from competing as an athlete into entrepreneurship and sports leadership. He later founded and operated a professional basketball organization in the American Basketball Association (ABA), where he developed a community-first approach to building a successful sports organization. That experience reinforced a philosophy that continues to guide him today: sports are about much more than competition—they are about bringing people together.

    Camp Director

Abraham became involved with TTC in 2022, initially helping run and organize UTR tournaments and events. As his involvement in pickleball grew, so did his passion for the sport and its unique ability to create community.

In 2024, Abraham began coaching pickleball and took over operations at TTC Coto, helping transform the club into a thriving, active pickleball community through programming, tournaments, leagues, clinics, junior development, and a strong focus on creating an inclusive and welcoming environment.

His success at Coto led to an expanded leadership role as Director of Operations for TTC, where he is now focused on continuing to grow the game, strengthen TTC communities, develop new programming, and help expand the organization across multiple locations.

As a Nike Pickleball Camp Director, Abraham brings together his experience as an athlete, entrepreneur, coach, event operator, and community builder. His coaching philosophy is simple: help players understand the game, compete with confidence, have fun, and develop a genuine love for pickleball.

For Abraham, pickleball has always been about more than what happens on the court. It’s about community, relationships, competition, and creating an experience that keeps people coming back.

CAMP PROGRAM INFORMATION

  • Gender: Coed
  • Age Range: 18+
  • Skill Level: Intermediate & Advanced

Make a weekend of it at the Nike Adult Pickleball Camp with TTC and Bollettieri Pickleball. Meet fellow players, work with experienced coaches, and put your game to the test at two of Newport Beach’s premier pickleball destinations.

SKILL LEVELS & GROUP PLACEMENT

Participants are sorted by ability first, based on self-reported level and DUPR rating as a starting point. Campers will then be evaluated and coaches can make adjustments throughout camp to make sure players are in the right groups.

While there are many ways to define skill levels, the following descriptions are what the Camp Directors at Nike Pickleball Camps will use to organize and group camp participants. At the time of registration, please choose the level that best represents your experience:

  • Intermediate: Players at this level understand the rules and strategy of pickleball and can sustain rallies using a mix of shots. They can hit with some spin and accuracy, resulting in fewer unforced errors. Focus is on refining technique, improving court awareness, and developing strategic play. (DUPR rating 3.0-3.5)

  • Advanced: Players at this level are proficient in all aspects of the game and employ advanced strategies. They exhibit strong footwork and a deep understanding of gameplay dynamics. This level focuses on competitive play, advanced shot-making, and tactical decision-making. (DUPR rating 4.0+)

CAMP EXPERIENCE

  • Friday: Meet, mingle, and play at TTC Newport Beach Club.
    • Kick off the weekend with a social night featuring a DJ, food, and time to connect with the players and coaches. Then head onto the courts for fun games that help coaches get to know your game and place players into groups that fit their level.
  • Saturday: Train and build your game at TTC Newporter Club at the Hyatt.
    • Spend the day on court with the coaching staff, working on the skills and decisions that make a difference in real matches. Get focused instruction, useful feedback, and plenty of opportunities to practice with players at your level.
  • Sunday: Compete at TTC Newporter Club at the Hyatt.
    • Put what you’ve worked on into action. Compete against your fellow campers in a tournament-style day, battle for every point, and finish the weekend with great matches and new connections.

Take home the memories, too. Throughout the weekend, we capture candid photos and videos of the camp experience—from on-court action and coaching moments to the fun shared among players. After camp, we’ll share the content with participants so they can revisit the weekend and keep the memories.

Whether you’re newer to pickleball or an experienced competitor, you’ll leave with new ideas for your game, more confidence on court, new connections, and a collection of moments from the weekend.
