Camp Overview

at Nike Tennis Camps

Nike Tennis Camps is thrilled to return to Boise State University in 2026! Register today and enjoy elite-level training while making memories to last a lifetime. The camp offers a unique opportunity to train under the direction of dedicated coaches and current and former collegiate athletes who serve as counselors. The camp is open to athletes ages 10-17.

Overnight Camp

Our overnight camp at Boise State offers an immersive, on-campus experience where campers reside in the beautiful BSU dormitories (just steps from the Boise River) in adjacent rooms to the coaching staff while training during the daytime hours. The tuition includes housing, meals, fun evening activities, as well as college recruiting seminars on Tuesday evening (parents are encouraged to attend the seminars!).

Day Camp (9:00am – 4:00pm)

Nike Tennis Camps also offers a summer day camp program for athletes who do not wish to stay overnight. This program runs 9:00am-4:00pm each day and includes daytime training only. Campers can bring their own lunch or purchase on campus.

Nike Sports Camp Experience

At Boise State University, Nike Sports Camps offers a unique experience with many sports (Baseball, Cross Country, Golf, Soccer, Softball, Swim, Tennis, and Track & Field) operating simultaneously. During the day, the athletes receive sport-specific coaching within their sport focus. In the evening, overnight campers across all sports come together for a special camp-wide experience which includes fun field games, educational seminars, and more.

Tennis Complex/Transportation Information

The camp will be utilizing the Fort Boise Tennis Complex which is just a short five-minute bus ride from campus.

The Nike Tennis Camp at Boise State University is open to any and all entrants and limited only by number, age and gender. Athletic facilities and coaches are subject to change. The camp is not owned, sponsored, controlled or endorsed by Boise State University.

    Karch Knoll

    Tennis Director

    Karch Knoll is the assistant men’s tennis coach at Tennessee Tech University and serves as a tennis director for Next Athletes. A former standout student-athlete at Grinnell College (Iowa), Knoll has coached at the Division I level for the past two seasons. Prior to joining Tennessee Tech, he spent time at Illinois State University working under Coach Mark Klynser, gaining valuable experience in player development and program operations.

    Karch Knoll

    Tennis Director

    A native of Waco, Texas, Knoll graduated from Vanguard College Preparatory High School, where he was a multi-sport athlete in tennis, soccer, cross country, and Esports. He captured Texas High School State championships in both singles and doubles and was named Vanguard Athlete of the Year in 2021, while also earning Honorable Mention All-District honors in soccer as a midfielder. Off the court, he served as the Class of 2021 Senior Class President and delivered the keynote address at graduation. At Grinnell, Knoll was a two-time Midwest Conference champion, winning titles at No. 4 singles and No. 3 doubles in 2022, and at No. 3 singles and No. 3 doubles in 2023.

    Phil Whitehead is the head women’s tennis coach at Linfield University and serves as a lead coach for Next Athletes and Nike Tennis Camps.

    Phil Whitehead is in the second year of his second stint as women’s tennis coach at Linfield in 2026. Whitehead has more than 30 years of coaching experience at the high school, collegiate, and club levels.
    Whitehead is no stranger to Linfield, having led two varsity programs as head coach and assisting with a third three decades earlier. He returns as women’s tennis coach, a role he held for six seasons from 1988 until 1994. During that span, he compiled a 57-49-1 win-loss record, twice being honored as the Northwest Conference’s Coach of the Year. He also carried the title of women’s soccer head coach from 1990 until 1992, and served as an assistant women’s basketball coach at Linfield from 1989 to 1994. Most recently, Whitehead spent the 2023-24 academic year working as women’s tennis coach at Central Oregon Community College in Bend, where he also served as the college’s club and intramural sports organizer. He previously spent time as boys tennis coach at Mountain View High School (2020-24), girls tennis coach at Newberg High School (2002-04), and was women’s tennis coach at Willamette University (1996-99). Additionally, Whitehead worked as lead tennis instructor at Central Oregon C.C. for two years (2022-24), and was tennis director and head professional at Tennis West Racquet Club in Corvallis (1994) and Black Butte Ranch. A native of Redmond, Oregon, Whitehead is a graduate of Central Oregon Community College where he earned an Associate of Arts degree in political science.

    Kayla Neff serves as site director for Next Athletes (operators of Nike Sports Camps) and is currently an assistant coach for Biola University Softball. Kayla is the main point of contact for parents across all sports at camp.

    Kayla Neff is entering her fourth year as the assistant coach for Biola University Softball where she was a standout athlete. During her time at Biola, Kayla helped Biola Softball reach the NCAA Division II National Championship and was named to the NCAA Division II All-Tournament Team. Kayla was also acknowledged for the awards below:

    • Earned All-Pacific West First Team recognition
    • Nominated by Biola University for the NCAA Woman of the Year Award
    • Earned Biola's prestigious Dr. Dave Holmquist Career Achievement Award
    • Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

    Assistant Site Director

    Payton Brown serves as an assistant site director for Next Athletes and Nike Sports Camps. Payton is currently a Division II baseball coach at Adams State University and is currently pursuing his Masters of Business Administration. Payton supports all sports and serves as an additional contact for camp families.

    Westy McQueen

    Camp Administrator

    Westy McQueen is the owner and camp director for Next Athletes, operator of the Nike Sports Camps at Boise State University and Westminster University. Westy has over 10 years of experience operating youth programs and has designed the Next Athletes programs with the purpose of providing a truly memorable, sport development experience for each child. Westy is a Positive Coaching Alliance certified coach, Level II U.S. Kids Golf Certified Coach, and specializes in a variety of sports including tennis, volleyball, soccer, golf, and football.

2026 CAMP DETAILS

The information below is based on previous years and is subject to change each year.

  • Camp Dates: June 15-18, 2026 (Mon-Thurs)
  • Ages: 10-17
  • Gender: Coed
  • Options: Day Camp (9:00am-4:00pm) & Overnight Camp
  • Last Day Check-Out: 4:00pm on Thursday at Centennial Amphitheater at Boise State University
  • Meals: Meals are provided for overnight campers only. Day campers are required to bring their own lunch each day.
  • Apparel: All campers should arrive at check-in dressed in their athletic apparel and ready to train.

OVERNIGHT CAMP

The overnight program includes instruction, fun games and competitions for prizes, overnight accommodation, all meals, fun evening activities, and more. The camp staff resides in the dormitories in adjacent rooms to the campers and provides supervision throughout the camp. Overnight campers are housed at Boise State University for the duration of the camp.

Housing Information

The information below is based on previous years and is subject to change.

  • Dorm: Syringa Hall
  • Roommates: Rooms are assigned by age & roommate requests. Roommate requests must be mutual. If you don't have a roommate request, you will be placed in a room with someone near your age. It will be a great opportunity to meet someone new!
  • Bathrooms: Shared
  • Linens: Not included. Bring linens (Twin XL) or a sleeping bag, pillow, pillowcase, and a towel.
  • Air Conditioning: TBD. Varies by dorm. Campers are in their dorms for very limited hours during the daytime and nightly temperatures are typically mild. However, campers are welcome to bring a small fan.
  • Room Key Deposit: $115

DAY CAMP (9:00AM – 4:00PM)

This camp offers a day camp program for campers who do not wish to stay overnight. This option includes instruction and daytime activities only.

PARENT/CAMPER SEMINARS

Both campers and parents are invited to join us for educational seminars on Tuesday evening. The location and schedule will be announced prior to camp. Seminar topics will include college recruiting, expectations of a collegiate athlete, how to choose the right school, and more. We also offer opportunities for Q&A with each panel of coaches.

Note: Camp is closed to spectators during daytime hours. Parents are highly encouraged to attend orientation and the closing ceremony.

CANCELLATION POLICY

  • If you need to cancel for any reason up to 24 hours before camp check-in, you will receive a camp credit voucher for the tuition fees paid, valid for one year for any sport and transferable to any immediate family member. Please note that participants who do not attend their registered session (no-shows) or fail to notify USSC at least 24 hours prior to check-in will not receive a voucher or refund.
  • Refunds are available only if the Cancellation Protection was purchased at the time of registration and the cancellation is made before your payment due date (1st of the month prior to your camp start date).

Overnight Campers Only

  • Swimsuit and towel

  • Toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, face wash, hairbrush, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, etc.)
  • Personal items & medications

  • Label all luggage and athletic equipment with an easily identifiable tag which has the camper’s full name and contact info

MEDICAL PROTOCOL

Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

TRAVEL

Nike Sports Camps does not provide transportation from airports, train stations or bus depots. If you have a child flying to camp, please arrange a shuttle or taxi service.

TEAM/GROUP DISCOUNT

If you have a team or group of 5 or more campers registering for the same camp, each camper may be eligible for a discount. To receive the group discount, please have someone email US Sports Camps at [email protected] with the following information: Camp name, list of camper names, and the number of campers. We will respond with a unique discount code for everyone in the group to use during online registration. *Note: Discount amounts vary by program, so please reach out for more details.
