Camp Overview

SERIOUS TRAINING FOR SERIOUS GOLFERS - INDEPENDENTLY OWNED AND OPERATED BY PREMIER GOLF ACADEMY

Premier Golf Academy Camps, San Diego is located at Premier Golf Academy's Tour Training Facility at Twin Oaks Golf Course. We offer weekly programs year-round for elite junior golfers looking for the highest level of training and coaching available. Our team includes the nation’s top PGA professionals and athletic development instructors to produce the best camp experience in the world.

Junior World Match Play Championship Camp

Premier Golf Academy is the Title Sponsor and Host of the 2026 Junior World Match Play Championship. This event is one of the most important and prestigious events in Junior Golf. The winners receive the title of World Match Play Champion for a year and are immortalized on the World Match Play trophy. The Junior World Match Play is one of the most heavily recruit events in the world each year and gives junior golfers the opportunity to be discovered by the top college golf programs. This program is designed for boys and girls ages 11-18 who are interested in college recruitment and scholarship. This camp has boarding and non-boarding options available.

Included in the camp tuition:

  • Training Monday - Friday, June 15-26
  • Entry fee into Junior World Match Play Championship
  • Green fees, facility fees and training provided each day
  • Premier Golf Academy clothing and merchandise package
  • Lunch provided each day

Schedule:

  • June 15-19: Training Camp
  • June 20-21: Tournament Prep and Practice Rounds
  • June 22-23: JWMP Qualifying Matches
  • June 24-25: JWMP Matches or Camp
  • June 26: Training Camp and Wrap up

On tournament days students will receive coaching before or after their rounds depending on their tee time. Students that fail to qualify or are eliminated from the matches will rejoin training full time for the duration of their camp.

    Bret Knutson is a Class A Member of the PGA of America and Academy Director at PREMIER GOLF ACADEMY. Bret has the accreditation of Certified PGA Instructor with the PGA of America and was named Top 25 Junior Coach in USA and Top 10 Instructor in China by Golf Magazine since 2012. Having been an experienced player previously competing professionally on the Austrian, Challenge, and European Tours, Bret brings hands on knowledge and experience to his 20 plus years of teaching. His passion and dedication to junior golf show in the success of his students. Bret’s students include PGA Tour winners and top amateurs, with more than 80 students having received scholarships to play in college.

    Greg Ehlert is a Class A Member of the PGA of America and Academy Director at PREMIER GOLF ACADEMY. Greg has received awards from Golf Channel and appeared in many golf publications for instruction. Greg has a passion for golf instruction and worked with some of the top junior players in the USA and Asia. Greg has a proven training and practice program that accelerates his student’s improvement. Many of Greg’s students have gone on to compete at the collegiate and professional levels. Greg has competed professionally in nearly a dozen countries throughout Asia, the USA, and Europe.

    Before joining Premier Golf Academy, Kurt worked for both Titleist and TaylorMade. At Titleist, he worked with the tour reps, including renown wedge designer, Bob Vokey, honing his fitting and instructional skills. He also worked with TPI learning the body, swing connection and the importance of teaching a swing that your body can handle.

    While working at TaylorMade, he won both the district and regional Clubfitter of the Year for the Southern California PGA.

    As the Director of Instruction at Premier Golf Academy, Kurt shares his passion for the game with all our juniors students. Using Premier Golf Academy’s winning teaching methods, Kurt is an expert at developing game improvement programs for our juniors and working with students to ensure they achieve all their goals.

    Dan Anselmo is an accomplished and dedicated instructor that has been teaching for the past 30 years. From 2009 to 2016 Dan worked for AGA Academy in Beijing, training instructors worldwide and sharing his passion and instruction expertise with juniors and adults. As Director of Golf for Premier Golf Academy, Dan shares Bret and Greg’s passion and philosophy on junior development. Dan has also been a major contributor to many major golf magazines in China.

    Ron Stelton serves as the Lead Instructor for Nike Junior Golf Camps at Boulder Oaks Golf Club, The Crossings at Carlsbad, and Premier Golf Camps.

    For the better part of his life Ron was a tournament playing professional on the regular tour and senior tour. Ron has played tournament golf on every major tour in the world. For most of the 1980's and early 90's Ron played the PGA European Tour. Twice Ron won in Europe. Today Ron sill plays a few tournaments a year as a way of "staying young" and in touch with the game.

    As a teacher/coach Ron learned his playing and teaching skills from many of the best and most famous names in golf. Ron's greatest teaching/coaching skill is making good golfers better golfers.

    Marcus is an accomplished player and golf instructor having been in the game his whole life. A graduate of the Golf Academy of America instructor training program, Marcus has taught at some of the most prestigious facilities in the world.

    Marcus began his golf career as a caddie at East Lake Golf Club, home of the PGA Tour Championship and childhood course of the great Bobby Jones. An accomplished player Marcus played professionally for many years and competed in the Hawaiian Open while working as an instructor at the world famous Kapalua Village Golf Academy.

    Through the years Marcus has received many honors and teaching accreditations from top instructors like Bill Madonna, Jerry King, and Mike Bender. Marcus is also a sought after club specialist working with TaylorMade to help player’s throughout Southern California. Marcus is a Senior Instructor at Premier Golf Academy and Head Coach of the Nike Junior Golf Camps.

    Marcus’ love and passion for golf is evident as he looks forward to helping golfers excel every day.

    Wyatt was a top junior and amateur golfer in the USA. After college Wyatt started his golf career as a caddie at Erin Hills site of the 2017 US Open and the USA Mid Amateur. Wyatt also caddied for PGA Tour Professional, Ken Green on the PGA Champions Tour for many years.

Patrick’s program integrates advanced training, with mindset formation, nutritional discipline, and enhanced recovery protocols to empower our athletes to truly maximize potential.

    Dr. Paul Ashbrook is a Mental Skills Coach and Professor of Sport and Performance Psychology at National University. Throughout the past 10 years, Dr. Ashbrook has consulted with a wide range of elite performers, utilizing mental skills training to enhance their performance. Dr. Ashbrook has spent a considerable amount of time consulting with elite golfers, both at the collegiate and professional levels. His research on individualized mental skills training in Division I collegiate golf was published in The Sport Psychologist.

    In his amazing teaching career, he has personally taught over 10,000 students and has given more than 100,000 golf lessons. In 1986 Earl Woods entrusted Anselmo with his then 10- year-old son Tiger. For the next eight years Anselmo guided Tiger Woods through his historic amateur career including 3 Junior World Championships and 3 US Amateur Championship. Anselmo influence and instruction no doubt helped to shape his game to become one of the most successful golfers ever.

Camp Details

At Premier Golf Academy San Diego, each player is evaluated individually, allowing us to create a one of a kind training plan for each student. Within a small group setting, students work through their development plans with the Premier team on a daily basis. Students also receive weekly evaluations and one on one instruction time each week in our high tech center.

Location

Premier Golf Academy is located in one of the best cities on the West Coast and the best climates in the world. Set in Southern California, San Diego posses’ unmatched weather with average highs in the winter months of 70 degrees and in the summer months of 78 degrees. Low rainfall, low humidity, and an average 283 sunny days per year make the area the best place in America to train and play golf.

San Diego area is considered the hotbed for golf in America and is headquarters to famous golf brands Taylor Made, Callaway, Cobra, Titleist, and Odyssey. The area has produced some of the world’s best golfers including Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, and Ricky Fowler, who all call the area home. San Diego junior golf tours are the strongest in the USA, hosting events every week year round, including the three World Junior Championship events held each year in July.

Premier Golf Academy is located in the heart of this environment at Twin Oaks Golf Club in the San Diego suburb of San Marcos. Our Academy is perfectly located between San Diego and Los Angeles, just 30 minutes North of San Diego International Airport (SAN) and 90 minutes south of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

English Language Learning (ESL)

For international students ages 8-18 attending our Golf School, Premier Golf Academy offers ESL certified English courses for students wanting to improve their English skills while working on sports skills. Please call the academy directly if you would like more information about ESL.

The Tour Training Facility at Premier Golf Academy is a world-class training facility custom designed to provide our students with best possible situation to learn, practice, and improve their golf. Our students are able to train with the most advance high tech equipment available in golf and practice in the conditions they will face in tournament play. Students play at Twin Oaks Golf Club, our Championship 18-hole golf course on-site, and have access to 8 other academy courses all within 30 minutes.

Twin Oaks Golf Course

Located at Premier Golf Academy Head Quarters, Twin Oaks Golf Course is a picturesque Championship 18 hole golf course set in the rolling hills and valleys just 6 miles from the Pacific Ocean. At 6800 yards with narrow fairways and well-bunkered, fast greens, Twin Oaks offers a challenge to every level player. Twin Oaks is a popular golf course for the Junior Tours and host many elite level junior events including World Championship Qualifiers, Regional High School Championships, US Junior Amateur Qualifiers, and several College Golf Tournaments each year. Students have daily access to Twin Oaks as well as 8 other academy courses all within 30 minutes drive.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Students will stay in Premier Golf Academy's 4000 sq. ft. home located off the 15th tee box. All other students will be housed with our camp staff at the beautiful, Marriott Residence Inn across the street.
