Join us for an unforgettable summer of high-level softball at the Nike Softball Camp hosted at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas! This exciting opportunity is designed for players eager to elevate their skills while creating lifelong friendships and lasting memories.

Led by Coach Taylor Lira, this camp is focused on developing well-rounded athletes. With years of experience, Coach Lira will guide players through position-specific drills, hitting techniques, and game situations designed to push their skills to the next level.     Taylor Lira was named head coach of the Sterling College Softball program in May 2020, making this her fourth year leading the Lady Warrior Softball team.

    Lira comes to Sterling College from Barton County Community College, where she was an assistant coach for the last two seasons. In her first season at Barton, she helped the Cougars make a run for the Region VI title coming up short to end the season at 33-17. The Cougars earned a second-place finish in the Jayhawk East standings at 20-6, which included breaking up 10th ranked Butler's 77 conference game winning streak. Other highlights include aiding head coach Tyler Gunelson to a Co-Coach of the Year award in the KJCCC East Division I and having six Cougars named to the All-East Division squad.


    Lira is originally from Mishawaka, Indiana, and was a standout player from Mishawaka High School. Lira left her mark on the state record book for hits in a single season (72), hits in a career (224), career batting average (.587), and longest hit streak (49 games). The 2013 Shelly Warner Award winner for the top female athlete, Lira was a four-time All-Northern Indiana Conference selection including being named the MVP, garnered All-State honors, and played in the ICGSA North/South All-Star game.


    Moving on to Southeastern University (Florida), Lira continued her playing career for three full seasons for the Fire. Playing and starting in 53 games as a freshman, Lira batted .318 and stole a team-leading twenty-six bases on twenty-seven attempts. In 59 games of her sophomore season, Lira led the team in runs scored (47), walks (27), and on-base percentage (.478 OBP) and was second on the team in stolen bases swiping 36 on 42 attempts to earn All-Sun Conference honorable mention honors which included a player of the week award. In her junior season, Lira led the team in walks (44), and on-base percentage (.510).


    Lira holds a bachelor's degree in sports and recreation management from Southeastern University.

Please Note: Last year, camp sessions SOLD OUT at this location. You can expect high demand on these first-come-first-serve camper sports, so please be sure to register early.

Instruction will focus primarily on hitting, specific position fielding, base-running, and game situations. In addition, pitchers will have the opportunity to work with pitching instructors. You can expect high demand on these first-come-first-serve camper spots, so please be sure to register early.

CAMP INFORMATION

  • Dates: July 13-16, 2026
  • Age Group: 8-18
  • Gender: Girls
  • Camp Types: Overnight, Day Camp
  • Overnight Camper Meals: Monday, Lunch and Dinner. Tuesday & Wednesday, Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. Thursday Breakfast only
  • Day Camper Meals: Monday-Wednesday, Lunch only. Camp ends Thursday at noon

CAMP SCHEDULE

  • First Day Check-in: 8:30am–9:00am Monday
  • Last Day Check-out: 12:00pm, Thursday for all campers.
  • Day Camper Schedule: Monday-Wednesday, 9:00am-5:00pm; Thursday, 9:00am-12:00pm

HOUSING

  • Dorm: Centennial Hall
  • Campers Per Room: 2
  • Roommates: Rooms are assigned by age & roommate requests. Roommate requests must be received no later than 14 days before the start of camp. If you don't have a roommate request, you will be placed in a room with someone near your age. It will be a great opportunity to meet someone new!
  • Linens: Please bring linens with you to camp.
  • Air Conditioning: Yes

INCLUDED IN THE FEE

  • Daily Softball Instruction
  • Overnight Campers: Dormitory Housing on Campus and All Meals are provided.
  • Day Campers: Lunch will be provided.
  • Supervision: Staff members reside in rooms strategically placed throughout the dorm to provide optimal supervision, and participate in all activities.

INSTRUCTION & FACILITY

  • Ratio: 1:10 staff to camper ratio

  • Groupings: Campers are grouped by ability, age, and experience, per the Director's discretion.

  • Facility: Outdoor Fields.

MEDICAL PROTOCOL

Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

TRAVEL

Nike Softball Camps does not provide transportation from airports, train stations or bus depots. If you have a child flying to camp, please arrange a shuttle or taxi service.

TEAM/GROUP DISCOUNT

If you have a team or group of 5 or more campers registering for the same camp, each camper may be eligible for a discount. To receive the group discount, please have someone email US Sports Camps at [email protected] with the following information: Camp name, list of camper names, and the number of campers. We will respond with a unique discount code for everyone in the group to use during online registration. *Note: Discount amounts vary by program, so please reach out for more details.
