Join us this summer at the Nike Track and Field Camp at Lake Forest Academy, where athletes of all levels can take their training to the next level with expert coaching and a dynamic learning environment. Our experienced staff provides in-depth instruction across multiple disciplines, helping campers improve technique, build confidence, and gain a deeper understanding of the sport.
Whether you're looking to improve your fundamentals or sharpen your competitive edge, this camp offers a fun, focused, and supportive atmosphere to help you reach your goals—on and off the track.
This is a day camp where housing is not offered.

Camp Director & Organizer Ted Golota
Coach Golota is the current head coach and founder of the Lake Forest Vikings. He was the head coach for boys and girls track and field at Lake Forest Academy for 8 years. He is currently a hurdle coach at Grayslake Central HS. His accomplishments are listed below.

Tanika Golota brings a wealth of athletic and coaching experience to this Nike Sports Camp. She has worked with athletes across all levels, from youth and high school athletes to developing programs for adult Special Olympics participants.

As a professional athlete in the NFL, Danny is known for his ferocious energy on the field and leadership skills.

Jumps Coach Chrisford Stevens
Coach Stevens has been coaching jumps at Latin HS and is the current Long Jump and Triple Jump coach for the Lake Forest Vikings. He has produced numerous regional and national qualifiers, as well as an All-American.

This camp program focuses on track and field fundamentals including technical event-specific drills, stretching, and speed and core strength exercises.

- June 15-19, 2026 (Mon-Fri) / Ages 8-13
- June 22-26, 2026 (Mon-Fri) / Ages 14-18

- Camp type: Full Day or Half Day Options
- Schedule:
- Full Day: Monday-Thursday: 9 AM-3 PM / Half-day Friday (Mock Track Meet): 9 AM-12 PM
- Half Day: Monday-Friday: 9 AM-12 PM
- Check-in: 15 minutes prior to camp start time
- Meals: Lunch is not provided. Campers should bring their own lunch, water and snacks.

INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT & FACILITY
- Ratio: 1:10 staff to camper ratio
- Grouped by: age, ability and experience
- Evaluation: by coaching staff
- Equipment Needed: Campers should bring at least one pair of broken in running shoes. Event shoes/spikes are recommended but not required. Please be sure to properly mark your equipment, so that it can be easily identified.

CHECKLIST OF THINGS TO BRING:
Below is a suggested list of clothes, equipment and personal items. US Sports Camps is NOT responsible for lost or stolen articles or money.
ALL CAMPERS:
- Extra Athletic clothing
- 1-2 pairs of broken in running shoes/ event spikes
- Non-running shoes
- Water bottle
- Sunblock
- Packed lunch and snacks
- Small gym bag/backpack
TRANSPORTATION
Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.
MEDICAL PROTOCOL
Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.
CAMP TUITION PAYMENTS
Full payment of camp fees must be completed by the first day of the month before camp. For example:
- June Camps: final payment is due on May 1
- July Camps: final payment is due on June 1
- August Camps: final payment is due on July 1
Any camper with an unpaid balance 10 days before the start of their camp will forfeit all camp fees paid to date and be removed from the camp.
Your confirmation email shows your balance due and balance due date. Final payments can be made through the US Sports Camps Customer Portal or by phone at 1-800-645-3226.
BEHAVIOR POLICIES
We may ask campers who require 1×1 supervision, disrupt the camp experience, or threaten the safety of themselves or others to leave camp. Behaviors meriting expulsion include, but are not limited to: a cause or threat of violence, putting themselves or others in danger, possession of a weapon, possession or use of alcohol, tobacco, nicotine, drugs or illegal substance, robbery, damage to property, sexual misconduct or assault, harassment, hazing, racist remarks or acts, or intimidation. In those cases, we will contact a parent to pick up the child immediately. We do not issue refunds to campers who are asked to leave camp.

My child does multiple events; will there be opportunities for her to train on multiple skills during camp?
Yes campers can train with multiple event groups.
What does my child need to bring to camp?
Please check your camp webpage for a list of items to bring to camp.
My child is new to the sport, do you accept athletes who are beginners in the sport?
We bring the best out of campers of all skill levels. All we require is a positive attitude.
Does the Health & Release Form need to be signed by a doctor?
Our Health & Release Form does not require a doctor’s signature. This form is required to be filled out accurately, and completed online prior to camp arrival.
